Is the game any good?

The game takes a lot of elements from God of War series. The combat system is modified though. We basically have four types of attacks, that can be inflicted with: 1) single handed weapon, 2) weapon + shield, 3) 2 single handed weapons, 4) two handed weapon. We've gather points from chests and saving full chested maidens plus of course killing. Each new move we learn can be mastered by using it, giving us more points. The game gives the player who is creative when it comes to combat more rewards. At first we mostly fight pirates who don't use shields, but the difficulty goes way higher in the second half of the campaign. We also unlock 4 magic powers: 1) turning enemies to stone, 2) meteor shower, 3) crows attack, 4) dark void which sucks everything that is nearby and kills instantly. I didn't overused them, because the main combat module is so good, that it feels like a cheat mode. Basically we start the encounter, and with all the slicing and dicing, we leave the place with dismembered bodies and blood all over the place. The animation is fluid, and we can see execute exact moves, that we've seen from two movies with Arnold Schwarzenegger. It really can be intense, and it's very satisfying. Story is fine, no saving the world and similar nonsense. Just a random adventure of Conan, where we need to also kill a couple of big boys as well.

Conan is voiced by Ron Perlman, and he really fits the role. He isn't very talkative, but the writers fleshed him enough not to bore the player. His model is based on Frank Frazetta's paintings:

Which is a fine choice. Very satisfying game, not too long (took me less than 8 hours to finish), but really intense and fun. The puzzles are nearly non existent, but it would kill the flow of the whole experience. Soundtrack was composed by Mike Reagan who also created music for God of War series (what a suprise!), and many more. I'll be lazy here and quote wikipedia - "To begin, he wanted to compose simple but powerful melodies, and looked to Basil Poledouris's score for the 1982 film Conan the Barbarian for inspiration. As Reagan played development copies of the game, he was influenced by two other works: Igor Stravinsky's barbaric and sensual ballet music The Rite of Spring,and Bernard Hermann's score from the 1958 action film The 7th Voyage of Sinbad". After hearing all of the tracks, I think he managed to do this task - music really enhances the experience.

I've used the RPCS 3 for emulating PS3 console. I had to make a custom config, because as it is, the game wasn't loading for me, and was stuck in eternal loop at the loading screen. There is a tutorial on youtube how to do it. After this I haven't got any problems with framerate or crashes. It's my first game finished on this emulator.

Is it good?
It can be really hard to navigate certain places due to fixed camera perspectives.

Doesn't pack enough punch for it's AP cost, pistol is way more cost effective.

Apart from these micro issues i liked it.
It's a turn-based Resident Evil where you can shoot zombies in the legs.

First Minsc dies seconds before the battle is over. Reload. Then Minsc casually gibs Kangaxx right at the start of the second stage before CHARNAME could even get off a single one of all the spells I had been saving up for the finale. Sometimes it feels like the RNG is trolling you.
