I actually encountered a few less acceptable bugs, too. I unlocked Double Tap on my rifleman but it...didn't appear. Anywhere. I never saw it. Maybe it was in some menu I wasn't opening? There were some UI miscommunications, too (why do some abilities that cost 2 AP say '+1 AP' but others don't in the menu?). But the worst was buggy spirits. The 'summon two spirits from the same hardpoint' doesn't work at all, except when it does and you wish it didn't: when your current hardpoint spirit goes berserk, you -can- summon a second one, but he just sits there and does nothing, unselectable, taking an action point from your shaman and giving you nothing in return. On the second-to-last savezone I experienced that on a -first- summon of that Apocalypse in one of the last rooms with humans in it. I don't know, with how long the checkpoints could be it would've been pretty fucking obnoxious if I'd had to redo a segment because I had a striking demon eating up one of my godrifleman's AP.

Overall, though, I did feel okay about it. But...please. Please, Harebrained, hack in a real save system for us. It makes open world-er modules in particular just...so much more painful. "Okay, I've been exploring this area for fifteen minutes, better zone out and back in in case I get shot!"

I haven't seen this question yet, some of the spells have descriptions that get cut off, is there a way to read the entire description?

Is it because you use a weapon that does not allow this ability? For example I have a revolver that says something like ''very powerfull but less attack options''. With this revolver you cant use double tap but with normal heavy pistols you can.

Anyone else's perma-buffs on drones suddenly disappeared (ones you buy with Karma)? Awkward.

Does this game need more polish or what... It just keeps reminding me why I don't play games on release, anymore.
Yea, that's an annoying bug. A workaround for now: go to the 'spend karma' screen, it'll re-add the buffs to the drones.

Anyone found a way for those 'medical bot' drones to be usefull? For some reason the little buggers don't do the one thing they're supposed to do for me. And a medbot that's not healing is shit. I do hope I'm doing something wrong instead of the bot being somehow incapable of healing.

bothered me too.

another particularly annoying bug: installing a certain augmentation that allows you to dodge the first attack on your character also affects buffs from your teammates and even prevents your char from reloading his weapon. theres just yellow text that says "dodge!" after clicking reload, so you are forced to repeat the action. annoying as fuck.

edit:

they get 2 or 3 healing kits in their inventar depending on the model. it refreshes everytime you start a new mission. took me a while to figure it out. their healing mortar thingy doesn't do shit apparently.

Guess it's possible, but the assault rifles didn't -say- they had limited attack options. That seems like the sort of thing that should be communicated. That was the top-end rifle, too...it seems strange that the best option in so linear a power progression game would stop you from actually using one of your powers to the point you don't see it through the whole game.

It's sarcasm for you  Yeah I am very bad at sarcasm too
Shoot it at enemies. It's a weapon - all support drones have it, they aren't just healing bots.

The percentages are totally out of whack in this game. I'm missing 95%+ hits way too often and every other summoned spirit with measly 14% chance of breaking free gives me the finger. Maybe the difficulty setting doesn't adjust the visual percentages or some shit like that?

usually I'm not that bad at sarcasm, but the description threw me off this time :< at some point I started using my medbot as cannon fodder anyway.

Were you trying to shoot yourself to heal or what?

Description says that bot is a medbot. It has a shit mortar and two medkits but I kept looking for an option or state that would let it heal my own guys. Especially as I figured it should work as the techie version when mages are healing machines for the magic inclined. SR isn't the best documented game there is so I'm sure I'll run into more shit like this as I go.

Another one that puzzles me is that a higher tier rifle has less ammo than a lower tier and otherwise the exact same stats. Yet is of a higher tier and more expensive. I guess it has more options but nothing says so in the description.

Another one is smartguns and datajack linking actually improving stats for all guns. A datajack improves my aim? Can't use a smartgun without a jack? Says nowhere but it appears to be the case.

Btw, I did not try it myself, but it's possible that using one S and one A attack drone would be more effective than two S drones. (your runner can carry medkits and grab few levels in biotech which is also governed by INT).

It's kinda annoying how while in the Matrix you have to move 1 step back from the arch to be able to use it if you're standing right next to it...

It really is going to need some patches for the game mechanics to be fleshed out. Pretty much everything can use a bit more work but especially the basic mechanics and stuff like jacks, augmentations and other character options. Apart from that the game could do with more items. Do hope it sells enough for additional support and dlc to make this happen.

Well I hope berlin redesigns melee in general.

I hope it adds retractable claws too. How the fuck did they leave that out.

I feel like the role of melee is normally punching through heavily armored enemies with a troll or something. But armor does nothing or nearly nothing in this game so it feels pretty redundant. I guess it reduces crit chance?

And the AP thing is pretty irrelevant since shotguns do it just as well really, and enemies tend to be nearly dead if you've drained their AP anyways. Damage wise, guns are pretty much just as good, with the added benefit of unlocking dodge (which provides real defensive benefits.)

And of course the whole concealed weapon factor, which never matters in this game. I loved that in the genesis game lonestar would harass you so carrying around illegal weapons/armor could actually be a problem, especially if you lacked charisma or a lined duster. Though it would have been nice if there were also spots where you were expected to be completely unarmed where you needed an unarmored/hand razor character to do the fighting.

I was also confused by the 'medical drone.' The description does say..."Heals the target with cleansing flechettes" or something, which I thought was just lampshade hanging for an aoe healbomb not making much sense. I guess if my other abilities hadn't been malfunctioning I might've gotten the joke.

Yeah, if you really think back, the Genesis game had so much more going for it than most people remember. You could pimp out your weapons, adjust offense/defense modifiers, had to worry about two seperate health bars, get random encounters on the streets, hack cameras and hide from guard patrols to avoid setting off alarms, couldn't just waltz in everywhere without nuyen or recommendations, finding and calling contacts would net you some nice stuff, like illegal SMGs or protection from gangs.

I think it shows how damaged our perception of verisimilitude is by modern games - we are ready to accept bullshit like a grenade launcher healing people with AoE (just not so long ago I was playing Star Wars MMO, where soldiers healed other characters with gun projecting green beam on them and could throw healing grenades)

The funny thing is that there is actually a 'holster weapon' button on the UI, but it does jack shit. I suspect this game was supposed to be much more ambitious initially, but they had to massively cut corners eventually.

Yeah, remember the alpha demo. There was that guard you could talk to in the Ares run if you approached him with weapons holstered.
