Game does get easier after a while, but I did like how some mid-game bosses tried to change it up a bit with the resistances and pierce and such (though I basically made Idun permanent party member at that point). Just wish they went up a level to even more different and tricky bosses lategame.

This game clearly wasn't 100% finished and lack focus. That's especialy true when you stop to think about everything involving the story , plot points and especialy characters like Yuzuru that give a vibe of ''This game clealy had a entire area or two cut''. 8/10 game but it could be much more honestly. It feel like the team behind SMT has a ton of raw talent but they're like headless chickens trying to make a semi-decent story and characters. I got that feeling playing SMT4 , SMT4Apocalpyse and SMTV just make me certain that something is wrong with Maniax/SMT team.
Thank you anon! You are a good anon! Maniax did have more wifes content anon! It did! Apocalypse was 10/10 wife kino anon! It was! Give me cute Asahi wife! Give me cute Pascal the dog is here wife! You are a good anon!

I did a full elemental/almighty MAG build my first playthrough, I'm done with everything except Shiva, the last abcess and DF. I'm going to try full STR this time because it seems vastly superior to MAG considering each element has a strength move and there are a ton of strength based almighty attacks.

Everything except final boss or you can play post-endgame?
I haven't actually went to the actual endgame yet, but DF and the last abcess are lvl 99 and I haven't hit 80 yet to get to Shiva. I just managed to cheese
Ra
by having the MC, Isis, and Cleopatra essenced to block everything and just healing everytime he casts an almighty attack. I also got incredibly lucky with
Mephisto
because he wouldn't stop casting his main darkness attack on people who were immune to it.

You are supposed to defeat the level 99 abcess by using ailments and de usual buffs and debuffs, i did it at like level 70 that way.

This Abscess is epitome of trolling. Nah, Slime, Pixie, Onmoraki, Pretty with basic skills, piece of cake.

First round - WTF???

One of few walkthrough says:

The demon is unlocked by purchasing the “The Return of the True Demon” DLC. Talk to Sophia at the World of Shadows after progressing to a certain point to start a subquest involving battle challenges against Fiend Demons. Defeat the DLC boss during the post-game after clearing the main story.

Dunno if the mean New Game Plus or player can continue after killing main story boss.

There is no "post-game" in SMT5. The game ends when you kill the final boss and prompts you to make a NG+ save that starts from the beginning with some carry over. You have to beat Demi-Fiend before the final boss and this can be done on your first run as no content, apart from a few demons, is locked behind NG+ like some early rumors claimed.

I tried it at ~60+ and got my shit pushed in and only managed to smoke bomb out because my MC reflected one of the spells they used so I didnt have time to try debuffs.

I'm very into cock and ball torture
Hydra took me a few tries, Loup Garou needed like three, everything else goes down in two max.

This is a turn based game. Unless you are playing tactical turn based a boss taking more than one try for someone with experience is hard, taking more than two (ie surviving the first real attempt with prep work) is peak difficulty.
I play hard games to revisit being a child, taking multiple attempts for bosses and getting immense dopamine rushes when beating them. I remember being stuck on some bosses for weeks.
But the problem is we are not dumb children anymore. I can ironman the average Final Fantasy blind, not a single threat of death even. The last boss that had me stuck for more than a day was YHVH from STM IV Apocalypse.

I am gratefull that difficult games like this exist, because if every game was as easy as your FFXIIIs then I would drop JRPGs.
But it still won't be truly difficult in a way a Battle Brothers is.
If you want some more oomph, from the series I played I consider only two harder than SMT.
Etrian Odyssey, because it has a more stringest element of ressource management, and SaGa, because it breaks a lot of JRPG conventions, so you need to relearn a bunch of stuff.

SaGa Scarlet Grace is the most tactical JRPG I have played. There are so many strategies you can attempt on an encounter, and the synergy you can engineer between your team is unbeatable. The game kicked my ass pretty hard, and I missed a very important ability quest somewhere, so I’m going to go back and finish it one day. I haven’t played any of the other SaGa games so I can’t say how tactical they are.

No need of buffs and debuff , max magic on main character , absolute attacks or elementals bypassing defences. Same on demons, they completely bypass any ressitance and can still even crit and weakness abuse.

After testing how OP is Murakamo even with pretty low strenght I regret going magical bulid but it's too late. Only 3 main bosses bosses remain so I propably skip Shiva and Hitoshura and try to take them out on new run with physical MC.

This makes me feel better about running a STR Nahobino. Sakanagi is pretty cool, too

My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.
Tbh combat becomes trivially easy in IV once you can fuse Dantalion for the spammable reflects so the protagonist build isn't that important. And anything after Medusa isn't really challenging to begin with. I think only the Seraph boss made me strategize a bit since it's only almighty worked on it or something.

Girimekhala reflects Phys and Gun attacks as well, which makes many fights pretty easy.
