Finished FO3 (and bought it) and am currently pretty far in DA.

The two games are not in the same league, because DA is a much better game then FO3 even with its many flaws.

I finished both, Fo3 was total [put turd reference here], just like this poll.

The two can't be compared, because they are you know, almost in two separate genres

Considering Fallout 3 is AT BEST an fps or an action game with rpg elements.

That's like comparing apples to oranges because both games are very different kinds of RPG (or comparing piss to shit, to find a more Codexian expression).

But, while I enjoyed Fallout 3, it's just too plain retarded. I go with Dragon Age, which at least made sense and tried being serious, unlike Fallout 3 which went so deep into retardoland, especially in the DLCs, that it's not even funny anymore. Just plain retarded.

DA wins in about every aspect except encounter design because it has waaaaay too much combat, and too long combat areas. Better combat system than FO3, but oh god it gets tedious if you have to fight mobs of 5 people every 5 seconds.

Fucking neither. This is like asking if you want Ebola or SARS.

You are dumb as shit if you don't know which of those you'd rather have.

I'll give you a hint: only one has a mortality rate > 50%

Dragon Age, and not just because Fallout 3 rapes the setting. That doesn't bother me that much, it had already been molested at least twice before. Dragon Age begins a lot better (Bethesda actually managed to outdo the Temple of Trials, good job!), the main quest in general is handled a lot better with more branching and options. I'd say that Fallout 3 has some better sidequests and obviously beats Dragon Age when it comes to exploration. Combat is a weak point in both games, but Dragon Age's options and tactics beats V.A.T.S. easily. For some reason both stories have an ending that calls for sacrifice, but at least there's no stupid shit like having an radiation immune follower who just doesn't feel like punching some buttons in Dragon Age.

Even though I despise Fallout 3 for raping the FO franchise, it is a better game than DA:O.

Its weird. Everyone told me to expect a biowarian game, but so far (which admittedly isn't far) DA has reminded me more of NWN2. T'aint bad though.

NWN 2 is as Biowarian as it gets although it was made by Obsidian. It was clearly their failed attempt at a game of BG2 scope.
Maybe Dragon Age reminds of NWN 2 because of Ferret's work. He is probably the one responsible for the worst elements of the game, like long dungeon crawls with extremely bland encounters (reminiscent of the NWN 2 Orc caves) and level scaling.

Compare them by category if you want: Sure
-Story/Lore: Both grade high but I give FO the edge because the DA codex was shit.
-Quest quality: DA’s origin quest was nice after that its hack and slash. Advantage FO
-Freedom/non-linearity: FO
-Combat/balance/variety: Both score low but DA has a real edge.
-Dungeon design: Lol again both score pretty low but FO has the real edge
-Character management/development: Hmmmm both are decent. I give DA a slight edge because you can develop a few NPCs
-Choice and consequence: Not quite finished with DA yet but from what I here there is C&C at the end which trumps FO so DA again
-Story branching: The origins gives DA an edge
-Multiple solutions: FO has an edge

That is 5 to 4 FO but DA scores higher in the important areas so I call it even. Yes we have a draw. Great fight though. I bet New Vegas rapes em both.

On the one hand, Fallout 3 is incredibly retarded. So much so that it makes it nearly impossible to praise it for anything it does right. On the other hand, I actually finished Fallout 3, while I cannot say the same for Dragon Age.

In conclusion, they both suck, so I will abstain.

I stopped playing FO 3 for the same reason I stopped playing DA. Initially I enjoyed FO 3. Then I began to realize that Megaton was the only actual town in the whole game. After Megaton every quest, every location and every everything was about dungeon crawling.

So, are you trying to tell me that Fallout, Arcanum, Bloodlines, Morrowind, etc all suck just because they aren't party based?

"and both have no C&C"

Why the need to lie?

"Fallout, Arcanum"

Party based. Even if the implementation (espicially in FO) leaves alot to be desired.

With the princess on this one.

There is a difference between partybased and "you may have a party if you wish to but there isn't really any other reason than for extra combat help and even benefits from that are slim."
