Another DLC for last year's fantasy hiking-sim Skyrim has been announced. In Dragonborn, it looks like you will be visiting an island with giant mushrooms and ride dragons.

The Elder Scrolls: New Vvardenfell? Shouldn't Obsidian be making that?

I guess the good news is I can feel comfortable picking up the base game for $5 and not wait for a GOTY since all the DLC looks terrible.

Creative name 11/10.

Also, was that the inside of a Telvanni tower? I like how since there's no levitation in the game, they put in a magical jump-pad tractor beam thinking nobody would notice. It looks like something that belongs in Halo, but I suppose that is arguably closer to the kind of experience Todd Howard envisioned for his beloved series than Morrowind ever was.

Jesus. They're not even fucking trying anymore are they? I'm sure Fallout 4 will be about as interesting as the empty metal boxes which will inevitably litter the landscape.

Cool, you can ride dragons now. Suddenly horses seem passée.

MY LIFE IS COMPLETE!

On the serious side, I didn't expect Bethesda to play the Shivering Isles aka nostalgia pandering card that fast with Solstheim. Guess I gave them far too much credit. Also, time to continue cashing in on all those GameJam ideas that they came up with within a week. What better way to force players to buy DLCs, even if they don't personally care about them, but to make them mandatory in order to have features retroactively added into your game (crossbows, spears, etc). Todd does it again.

Seriously, guys. Bethesda have officially gone beyond my "Would play for free on pot and bourbon" popamole condition. Jesus H. I'm kind of impressed they've taken the derp this goddamn far. I almost have respect for that in a horribly pathetic sort of way.

Yeah adding another optional landmass with more content akin to the original game really crossed the line

Uhg once they started to make their games "EPIC!1" is when it all fell apart to the dumbdumb crowd.

Hey Morrowind fans, you want more "EPIC!1" in your Morrowind with Skyrim DLC!?

No thanks.

I quite like the trailer music. Google has failed in delivering me any info about how to get my mitts on that music track though.

This.

Apparently expansion-sized DLC is a bad thing and Bethesda should be going for Horse Armor?

Not liking Skyrim is one thing but this is certainly not an insubstantial amount of content. It's not the kind of thing that a modder could whip up in a few days, like 99% of DLC.

Mushroom tower jumping pads is pretty hilarious though. You'd think they could at least make a levitate that isn't castable by players for those areas.

Looked nice, but Skyrim is a very boring game.
