I would say that Skyrim trascends beigna defined game according to old rules and becomes more of a entertainment simulator; you can custom your game to what you want to do with mods and literaly play how you want to play; wanna do quests, change the scenary, have different non vanila monsters, change the perks, add the old classes and attributes etc...it is up to the player
How are those things features? Sounds more like bethsoft wanting modders to do their work for them?

Meh, I'm still waiting for mods to fix the base game...
More like make the base game. Skyrim doesn't seem to contain any in the package. It appears that Bethesda found an entire new genre, RPT - role playing toys. By all standards, as an RPT, Skyrim is a great product. It's beautiful, and there's a lot to play with. Sadly though not a lot to play...

Yeah you make your game; i know a guy who only mods and is perfectly happy making pretty dresses
or another that makes machima movies
or another that useas a heavily moded version that removes the scaling and has a static world like Morrowind
you decide the experience depending how you want to play
That's not a game, a game has content, it's a complete product.

It's not. It's a toy, a Barbie house. You decide how many bathrooms are in, and what jacket Ken is wearing. And you can have your own personal story of marriage/divorce/death in fire of martian invasion. The only problem is that if you're out for a role playing game, Barbie house isn't likely to be a good fit for you.

Too bad Codex Hivemind...some of us like Skyrim and some of us are going to enjoy playing that DLC, dont know the point of this thread at all, otherthan getting a thread full of wiseass responses worthy of an ign article....so much for the rpg conoseurs I guess, might s well review Halo 4 after all for the Codex
does Skyrim even have stats? I don't think it does so it can't be called an rpg I wouldn't think, afaik character generation in Skyrim is cosmetic physical stuff, no selection of attributes or skills etc.

maybe Skyrim under "action/adventure"? Or "exploration game"?
Skyrim does have a fair number of skills, with skill values from 1-100, and 3 attributes. There's no customization during character generation though, your starting stats depend on your race.

:incline: of newfags, Soltheim looks beautiful unlike Disneyland Cirodill so it is at least worth to check on bay, look at all vistas and visit the pieces of MW... even if the heresy of Alessia not being the first Dragonborn is painfully :retarded:

Random new stuff: OMG MAKE MORROWIND EXPANSHUN!

Morrowind setting re-done: OMG NOT EVEN TRYING!

Game companies cannot win. Color me popamole but I am eager to see Solstheim (sp?) again in the new engine and am happy to have modders be handed Morrowind assets on a silver platter. Also should be sizable and like a real expansion, new land being something the first expansion sorely lacked.

Spears though? Who gives a fuck?

Well, Bethesda's version of "refining" resulted in content cut that I found rich in Morrowind, and lest not forget the quest marker. ;)

So yeah, a shit game with a familiar setting is still shit despite the flaming graphics and CoD action. Popamole indeed. Spears are actually the most interesting aspect. Reach weapons done right could be interesting.

Skyrim is a shitty game and it's further proof people don't actually like nice things. (most of that 10 million are casuals buying into the hype)

This goes without saying for most of the Scrolls game's. I have more fun modding them than I actually have playing the game.

I will likely revisit Skyrim 3 years down the track when the rape mod comes out ......

Dat's wassup Bethesda! Now just bring back guild rank requirements, spellmaker, in-store merchant inventory/stuff to actually steal, guards in shops, levitate, dungeons that aren't one pathway, birth signs, mortar-pestle-calcinator-alembic-retort, mage guild teleportation, layered apparel, items worth finding in dungeons and high level chests, multi-piece armor, quests that are interesting, stats, and you'll be straight!

It does seem like ever since P:E newfriends tend to have a kind of nauseous give me circlejerk or give me death mentality. Maybe it's always been that way, what do I know, I'm a newfag.

Dumah is still a dummy, though.

Fuck trannies and astronauts.

2012 is shaping up to be the worst year since 2009 when it comes to shitty newfags.

While watching the video I kept thinking "WTF, are 12 year old kids their target audience?" Then I read through this thread and realised I was wrong. It's targeted at 12 year olds, Mastermind and assorted Drog alts.
