Skyrim is worse than Oblivion in every way

Though stopping the war by killing Jarl Ulfric / General Tulius should've been possible. Just give Ulfric dragonshout and good high level (30?) + elite guards around him. I find it ridiculous a lone adventurer can even get an audience with Ulfric / Tulius less than a day after Helgen. Baby steps, I guess.
In New Vegas, the Courier gets an audience with House and Caesar because of circumstances in the main quest.

In Skyrim, the Civil War and the Main Quest are interconnected so that you have to kill the first dragon and be known as Dragonborn before you start the Battle for Whiterun. What strikes me is how they could have easily changed it so that you have to kill the dragon before you can get an audience with Tullius and Ulfric. If they're gonna go with forcing the player to start the main quest before completing the second quest in the civil war, why not change it to the first one? That way it would make more sense, as both Tullius and Ulfric would like to have the Dragonborn on their side, just like the factions want the Courier on their side in New Vegas.

Of course, Bethesda should also have copied the reputation system from New Vegas and put elite guards around Ulfric and Tullius. That would have improved a lot, as now you can be a famous Legate and go chat with Ulfric just as the Imperial Legion is assembling for the final battle.

Cleared a troll cave for Companions - decided to try giant hunting afterwards cause it's still early in the night.

Result was extremely satisfying loot. 5x Tusks worth 150g each, lots of fur to turn into leather.
Giants alone drops a few hundred coins and 10 giant toes each.
Kinda low risk too, especially with Flame Atronach providing support fire.
I suppose I can train Destruction magic this way too, with Icebolt spamming and potions.

I've been playing this a bit after paying $10 for it a while ago. Too lazy to mess with mods, though. Definite improvement over Derpblivion but nothing special. People quipped it was 'dumbed down' because they took out skills but shit like Acrobatics, Athletics, etc. don't really have a place in an FPS action RPG with the style of combat TES has used. Hell even Speechcraft, which they kept is fairly worthless as only one of the perks in it actually affects persuasion. The rest is just leftover Mercantile shit like 'make more monies' or 'vendors get more cash' and other pointless things in a world where you can just loot and sell a bajillion things to various merchants. Investing in stores is just for the E-Larp crowd.

All-in-all it's not a bad generic dungeon crawler. The amount of content is pretty impressive and most of the dungeons/crypts I've been into so far have had their own unique theme/setting/etc. I'm sure there are a decent amount of cookie-cutter ones but nowhere near as bad as Oblivion.

Can't you hotkey poisons? Favourites is pretty fast but still.

The floating quest marker makes my eyes bleed. Using only the world map quest marker and the compass quest marker at least forces me to do 5% of the looking work myself. Besides, I usually turn off the quest markers alltogether in interiors since it's actually feasible to find your target yourself in these linear dungeons.

Also, does Requiem allow you to increase running speed? Or is it just the fov playing tricks on me?

Hotkey is reserved for quick weapon switches and spells.
I felt the potion consumption and poison applications is better done with Favorites tab opened cause they're consumables - don't wanna drink the wrong stuff in the heat of combat.

Installed this game and moded the shit of her this time not even touching the restarted main and civil war quests; f... the dragons, guidos and snowniggers; Its mind warping how game after going 1.9 and having tons of un official patches can be so buggy and still get 10/10, 100 on metacritic and sell in 10 millions copies... Well Sapiens cattle gonna sapiens Commissar guess. This time at least without the overgrow cliff racers killing NPCs and breaking quest scripts and with survivability mods installed it is fun sandbox romp/merc simulator. Also Crafting is finally fun and fixed with mods.

Cavalier make up most of the magick elite of High Rock. In essence they are Breton knights- though it would be inaccurate to liken them to their Imperial counterparts. As a whole they tend to not follow any codes of honor or chivalry. Instead cavalier are every bit as fickle and petty as their patrons, frequently lording it over the peasant women whenever a chance might present itself. :martini:

The best one in entire game: Barabas; any mods when you can construct your very own castle/tower and do some of good old fashioned feudal oppression on your subjects and neighbors? Miss this part of Morrowind and Baldurs Gate 2.

Ah, Clavicus Vile's pet dog.
He's god mode and breaks the game somewhat.

Yeah I don't mind if the Essential NPC actually had staggered effect when dropped to low HP. I know some do. They stop fighting and just kneel down till the combat is over. Enemy AI would then ignore the 'downed' target and move on. But this isn't the case at all with Barbas. That dog tanked the whole Vampire cave where Clavicus' shrine is under.

DraQ does companions in Requiem actually follow the player's levels or are they static?

don't know about the new version, but in the old one followers were one of the few npcs that still leveled with you.

I didn't even see that. It appears this thread is cursed so that any who gazes upon it becomes a magnet to such mods. All I meant to do was remind people of Oblivion's retcon once more.
