Skyrim is worse than Oblivion in every way

Is there a reason Bethesda seems aversive to the Codex?
There may have been a couple of "incidents" involving Bethesda, Pete and Todd specifically. That "father of lies" and "full of shit" thing, "which dev lied the most?" thread... Very mild and innocent stuff mostly

Casual gaming. Can't blame Bethesda when they just try to turn a profit.

Why even try to cater to the "hardcore" audience by spending time on deeper content than "mash X for awesome"? Same with every mass consumer industry, tbh.

The world desperately needs more crazy fanatics like Toady who live for their dream that doesn't include just money.

Just finished up will the whole Civil War questline and a glaring problem has really shown up that I can't find a solution to. Whenever more than 4 enemies show up on screen it becomes a battle with my mouse to get a damn swing off. Is this the game and if so how do I fix it or is my PC just shit and do I need to finally have my POS machine upgraded?

Gotta say, I'm trying this Skyrim Redone mod and it's FANTASTIC! The guy managed to almost turn Skyrim horribad combat into something close to Dark Souls, made playing with a melee character not only fun, but also challenging! Also, lot's of good changes on the skill trees, vendors prices and enemy AI. Also potions now work over time.

Really good stuff, anyone willing to venture again into Skyrim should definetly try this one. With this and Sky UI, all that's left is someone fixing the "follow the arrow" quests...

Does Skyrim Redone make our enemies able to FUCKING JUMP? It was pretty gamebreaking since Morrowind that almost every fight could be won sitting on the high ground shooting magic shit at stupid overpowered enemy running in circles under our feet.

Gotta ask this: am I really the only one who did the Civil War with the legion? Stormcloaks are the bunch of pussy guerrilla with gay swedish accent, not to mention that nords here are raped down into some regular vikings.

No, I found the Stormcloaks to be pretentious fags.

This :bro: but rather Spellblade with Midas/Apocalypse Spell Packages.

Already done:smug: Better Quest Objectives

Doesn't that get ridiculously overpowered in latter stages? Also, do the enemy also uses the spells?

It's a good step foward, but still the quests are all "kill this & fetch that".... I wonder if it's possible to have dialogue skill checks in Skyrim....

I've completed Dawnguard today (55lvl, 280 hp, 30% damage reduction from Light Armor) and I can't imagine surviving Nightlord Vampire ambushes without crowd control spells or 85% cooldown on Shouts with Speech perks and Amulet/Blessing of Talos.

There are some overpowered spells, like Rain of Fire or Volcano, but it's mostly balanced. No custom spells for enemies, though, but it's maybe for the best.

Too much work for Nexus modders who are already too busy with developing "immersive" zoophilia mods or such. I doubt it can be done anyway. Nah, too much work for this turd; it's already a miracle that it's become such a great action game with SkyRe.

No custom spells for enemies is a huge downside for me, it feels too much like cheating... I'm used to play RPGs casting lame fireballs while the enemy casts timestop chains and meteor or something, not the other way around...:P I especially like how SkyRe made the AI use the new skills and attacks. Even weak soldiers can parry and block, so you don't run at then and faceroll just because they are low-level...

Also, graphics whore mods: I found this ENB setting really pleasing and immersive, and the cloaks mod is a must! Why developers never do cloaks in their games? Ever since NWN is been pretty clear how important they are to LARP... just look how nice my bro looks:

How's its compatibility with deadlier dragons, apocalypse spell package, midas magic (downloading now) and duel?
Deadly Dragons is compatible, but personally I use "Dragons Diversified" instead. The magic mods should work fine, seeing that GeeZee above beated the game with them; and since SkyRe is modular you can install it but uncheck the "combat" part, replacing it with Duel. Should work fine, but I prefer how SkyRe handles the combat, the fights are much harder and the AI is really agressive.

Lol yeah, but he's the last unchanged Snow Elf (the rest regressed into Falmer as we know it). He states that while he's the last one omg, it's entirely possible that there may be an enclave or two on the Nirn:lol: So Bethesda aren't burning bridges on that one.

This is Bethesduh, they'll retcon anything if it suits them. They don't give a shit about anything but kewl stuff.

No wonder, becasue CHIM is brought up every couple of threads in bethsduh lore section

Aside from very few Speachcraft checks I spotted none, shame even F3 got them (misssused but still)... Bethpizda had to be too lazy to play FNV.

Well, there is some logic to that given that your typical Falmer known as such is currently barely more than hideous, degenerate beast, so he might be willing to distance himself from the rest of the race even at the cost of adopting human nomenclature.

And what checks would you implement in Skyrim? Attributes are gone* and none of the skills but speechcraft are particularly relevant to dialogue. I could see a few checks using magic skills when talking with other wizards, but other than that?

But what would that accomplish? What would that unlock? With magic skills I can imagine getting some extra exposition, proving that you're not some clueless fuck that's only important due to dragonporn, or calling an NPC out on their bullshit - see that one encounter with the Synod asshole in those dwarven ruins where having something more to say would work, or the mythic dawn museum dude who could use dialogue option unlocked through high conjuration (actually, there seems to be one place where there is a destruction check involved - initial dialogue with J'Zargo)- but what relevant dialogue would having high picpocket/lockpicking/sneak skill unlock when talking to a rogue? What point would have mentioning how well you can swing your warhammr to a soldier? Ok, the latter could be used as intimidate option, but other than that?
