@ Grunker : It seems really risky to build bork after randuins (which I nearly always build on noc early for added adc killing powers) becquse it doesnt help against the burst Im drawing at me. On udyr though I guess I could try it instead of Wits.

One problem I have is that a lot of my strong champs are obsolete, like Garen, and the strongest I have are all very similar and dont always fit comps. Aside from it being dull to always play the same Naut, Zac etc. Basically youre right but you don.t learn much from doing that.

After? o_O

Nigga you get one, perhaps two, offensive items, and those - you start with. Randuins would come after botrk (though I would recommend Sunfire instead of Randuins, most times).

Well, as Day9 once asked Little Timmy: Are we playing for fun, or are we playing to improve? :)

I don't think Garen needs to win 3-0 every single lane to win the game. Garen is a split pushing machine and he's quite impossible to gank so he's pretty much the perfect top laner for a team, Garen is on an island and you never see him again until you both meet at the top inhibitor and the middle inhibitor and dance and photo-op like you're the Americans and Russians armies joining in WW2. For a jungler, he's godsend, you spend all your time making plays in mid-bot, it essentially allows you to camp those lanes 24/7. I actually have a guy in my friends list that plays nothing but Garen and got to gold with him.

More Quinn wins Darth Roxor? I think I might actually buy Quinn instead of Lucian when he comes out, gotta dominate with her before everyone catches up. Damn, never thought I'd say that.

Ban Janna, I'm not going to play an anorectic bikini chick just because OP.

Apparently they're testing some Vayne nerfs. Sounds good to me, she's way too popular and I don't like such a strong anti-melee capability on an hyperscaling ADC, never mind if she's actually competitive or not.

They're already nerfing Vayne? Wow, one of the few ad carries that was still fun to play. Her win rate isn't even that high, sigh.

Ahaha, what the fuck? I stop playing League for 2 months and there's crazy new strategies going on already and I only watched 5 minutes of that game so far.

That's why people still play it 3 years down the line. ;)

[edit]

Watching it now. 20 minute tristana with IE + BotRK. Good god... I consider it a good game if I have ONE major item by the 17-minute mark.

Just saw this:

Ugh I really can't be arsed to drill my strong characters again and again

Then you will never ascend. The pros repeat it time after time after time: The number 1 single-most important thing you can do to improve is have a very small selection of champions and play those until you hate the game, and then play them some more.
The very big difference is that pros dedicate enough time to playing LoL that they are able to test all manner of random champs in solo queue and then master their champions of choice in scrimms. Both of them are important because playing a wide variety of champions, trying every one at least couple times is crucial to understanding the game, knowing weakness of your opponents and being able to adapt to nerfs and meta shifts.

From my perspective them speaking about mastering a champion is a purely abstract idea when they play their champions of choice over 10 times a week each in scrimms while also often playing as many 'I take whatever I feel like' games a day as I play during a whole week.

Normal games are for playing new champions and trying out new shit. Ranked is when you feel like playingone of your "best" 3-4 champions in ultra-tryhard mode.

You didn't see TSM go Annie + Xin Xhao bot yesterday? They lost... a lot. But, hey.

The new icons for several items have been added on PBE.

Just like the champion icons that came with various art rework they become completely unreadable when scaled down to size that is used in game. For example with interface settings I use, icons are 20x20px and these ones would look like this:

Some blurry blobs, cool.

Seriously, what is wrong with the icons we have now? They're easy to read with a quick look and very characteristic, besides I like the cartoony style, I don't know why does Riot have to make everything serious and grimdark now.

So I made a smurf account, I want to see to what rank I can get with nothing but IP, that means cheap heroes like Ryze, Garen, WW etc.

Holy hell the grind is long. For one thing I notice that WW jungle works with basically no runes or masteries.
