Yes, I'm sure Feargus is totally "embarrassed" by his success at sucking money from two different publishers over the course of three years. :smug:

What you guys should be asking yourselves is what will replace South Park once it's out.

For now Next-Gen Game and Skyforge MMO. As well as P:E, which takes care of a few people. And there may still be something brewing.

An embarrassing game to be involved with, Obsidian must be feeling ashamed. It's not even decent comedy either, SP hasn't been "funny" for years and even when it was, it was at a low-brow level, and it was just allegory based on contemporary events - things that won't be funny in 12 months or more.
of course it has to be contemporary. they want to make contemporary satire. it's the best of its kind. perhaps you can mention something better?
Better contemporary satire? I wouldn't know, and couldn't care. But the idea that feces jokes and casual antisemitism, as well as a general tone of immaturity, are in any way "funny" to an adult is ludicrous. I'm sure there exists better contemporary satire out there, because I could not imagine anything worse than SP.

I literally have no idea how Obsidian could of thought their talents would be anything but a waste on garbage like this.
why wouldn't it be funny to an adult?
did you lose your sense humor as you grew up?

the mature, sophisticated mind seeks decadence. whisky, psychedelia, crude humor, voluptuous women. all good things.

Come to think of it, making a game like this has one huge benefit: there's nothing quite like it on the market. Meaning no idiotic reviews along the lines of 'Alpha Protocol is a Mass Effect clone' or 'New Vegas is a rehash of Fallout 3'.

I like crude humor! I just do not find South Park funny. I do like the comedy series Little Britain, despite not being from the UK, for that sort of comedy.

They must have something. I mean, they hire people constandly the last months. Unless the MMO requires a whole team of 50 persons, these people must go somewhere else.

Oh, they're probably for the next gen thing, since that seems to ramp up production. And some of them were for the MMO.

Nah, Mantic's just being honest, not me though, as of right now I'm gonna pretend that SP is funny in support of Obsidian.

Well they're not responsible for the writing (the show's creators are) so by definition they can't affect the humour.

One more reason not to get this game.

Yes, people who do not like South Park should probably not get a South Park RPG, a very astute observation sir

People may have been hoping that Obsidian could magically polish a turd until it resembled something decent. I'm here to perform a service to my fellow man and inform them that it's impossible. Specifically, the game is for 6-7 year olds, the writing was done by talentless hacks, and the combat was modelled off paper mario. For the love of God, RUN!

But if that sort of thing floats your boat Infinitron, go for it. Allow me to also recommend some fabulous 'Fisher and Price' products to you. Also this wonderful thing called 'Lego', it doesn't have the complexity and depth of 'Meccano', but South Park calls these things "overrated" and "elitist" so I don't think you'd mind.

It can be compared unfavorably to the Mario RPGs.

Can? It already has! The media is waaayy ahead of you on this front

South Park: The game is sorta like Paper Mario, only with more bleeding, crying children ( http://kotaku.com/5867353/south-par...mario-only-with-more-bleeding-crying-children )

South Park RPG takes cues from Paper Mario ( http://www.lazygamer.net/xbox-360/south-park-rpg-takes-cues-from-paper-mario/ )

I don't even watch South Park, alt-bro.

But Orgazmo and BASEketball were ace.

Bet you ten bucks it has more c&c and is a better RPG than anything Bethesda's released in the last 5 years.

My favorite chinless movie critic gave it half a star and called it "callow, gauche, obvious and awkward, and designed to appeal to those with similar qualities". I don't much remember Baseketball, but never had a strong desire to rewatch it. Last time I watched South Park I was probably 9, and it was the South Park movie, me and my friends loved it at the time. Attempted to watch it again couple of years ago, and got barraged with political bullshit that had no place in a show that consists mainly of scat humor. Picking up the game, because it's an RPG, and because it's Obsidian.

Also, I still have that shitty n64 South Park game lol, I think I read somewhere that the creators had pretty much nothing to do with it, pretty awful game.
