It's funny because they all have the

Hey Rads! Hey! FUCK YOU!

Yes, I will hope for the success of every Obsidian game, even if it is popamole. I wan't them to stay in business because they are one of the few others, who can produce something worthy from time to time. You can go back playing romance simulators with Bioware if you don't like it.

And if the other dumbasses think that if an Obsidian game flops, it won't have a negative effect on their business relationship, you are more retarded than I thought.

Let's hope that this game sells millions and Obsidian gets lotsa money, this will surely convince them to make a niche old school RPG with which they won't lose money if they are lucky.

I don't understand why most of youse who hate this even care about whatever console thing Obsidian's working on now. They have other irons.

Kz3r0 they're already doing that with kickstarter. This is what they're making to convince other publishers they're still worth future work-for-hire projects.

It looks pretty South Park-ey, not sure how gameplay will be, hopefully a fun Mario RPG-type system with a lil Diablo lootwhoring. And I hope the check from THQ doesn't bounce.

In before Obsidian missing bonus by 1% review average.

They said they're not going the Diablo route when it comes to loot. They want equipment to feel important, and I think I remember something about how you'll be able add customizable upgrades to your crap though that may be my imagination. It's been nearly a year.

In short, they will continue to produce AAA+ crap using Kickstarter on the sidelines?
I don't think so, Avellone clearly stated that Kickstarter was a way to develope an original IP, of which they will retain all the rights and he also clearly stated that if it was successful they would have never used Kickstarter again.

Obsidian said South Park will use a system similar to FF7 materia, which is also similar to PoE active skill gems. Basically, weapons have sockets and the socketables have skills. These socketables also level up. Its a pretty fun if system if you're not a simulationist.

It happens every time, just like he said. Seriously, if the average IQ of Obsidian fanbois would drop lower it would be just like with Bethesda and Bioware. Come one FaggotAngel and J_C, you can do it if you join forces! Stupidity unite!

The news from meteorologists is just in! They say that the new superstorm, 3 times more powerful than Sandy, is brewing as the hot air from Obsidian haters and cold air from reality collides.

This looks fucking good. It looks like an extended upcoming best episode to allow you to "watch" it at your own pace while throwing mighty fun at you. I don't expect it to be a "meaningful Role-Playing experience", I expect it to be fucking South Park with some gamist RPG tropes.

Before the first trailers showed up, I was hoping for a little more casual and varied backdrop for story in the South Park setting than going the easy route (ie. The Return of the Fellowship of the Ring To The Two Towers + Fun Times With Weapons) and ideally, I would prefer episodic content; small installments with each as long as a few South Park episodes, tackling different things similar to the show itself in a more RPG oriented manner but this is also good.

For now though I believe the goal is to reverse that. They still need those big console project contracts to survive as a studio for the next few years.

Who knows? If South Park hits it big, maybe Square will finally let them do a Chrono game. That kind of seems like a match made in heaven to be honest, although I'd shit my pants if it actually ever happened.

It looks like, and by this I mean really stands out, that they're trying hard to capture the South Park feeling and quirky humor. Too bad about that, SP is garbage.

South Park is garbage compared to what? It's far better than Seth Macfarlane and most of Adult Swim. The show got drastically better in its first couple of seasons and has pretty much maintained the same quality ever since. It's one of the best television shows ever and I have absolutely no idea what people are talking about when they say otherwise. Truth is I've only watched it off and on over the years, but I think that gives me a more realistic perspective. Sure it has its ups and downs, but I recently saw an new Halloween episode that was as good as anything I've seen of late. It was quality comedy, quality commentary, and not too full of itself. Excellent stuff.

With the caveat that I haven't really thought about South Park for quite a few years, this does seem like it would be fun for people who enjoy it (and given that the Codex owes some of it most well-worm memes to South Park, I'm guessing that there are more here than would admit it). I doubt I'll actually end up playing it, but it doesn't look like it'll be particularly awful for what it is. Probably something along the lines of the Mario & Luigi DS games.

The show would be awesome if I was a homosexual libertarian who enjoyed juvenile shit/racism jokes. But since I'm none of the above, I can't justify the occasional genuinely funny moment by saying that South Park is a decent show, sorry. It was funny and pushed new grounds back in the 90's but sometimes things just run their course.
