Great story can be turned into garbage and a horrible story into something thrilling.

Story about student loan can be done right, a naive student does something slightly illegal to help him financially only that pulls him more into a criminal world from which he can no longer escape and lives of his loved ones are threatened.

Now he must become what he hates to saved who he cares about, simple and effective.

Problem is that everything about this, from visuals, character design and story, just screams modern day woke, soy filled politics crammed into a beloved franchise.

Definitely not sensible. Again, "this is highly plausible" is not required for any Saints Row plot point. Is it funny? Who knows, probably not. If it's funny, it will probably be funny in ways these dumb writers don't intend; I highly doubt this will come close to "so bad it's good" territory, more likely to be just bad. But none of this is proof that a "first world problems" storyline should never be used.

Whenever a writer talks about how they written a piece of work with "modern sensibilities" in mind than that work is going to suck hard. They are more concerned with checking down diversity boxes and making a product for a mass audience than they are with telling a good story.
