New russian nux-com\ja3 clone in the making by a studio called Lipsar or raspil (embezzling) if you read it backwards. :smug:

Russian team Lipsar Studio, which received financial support from the Internet Development Institute (IDI), showed the first gameplay of its turn-based tactical strategy “Sparta 2035”.

The events of “Sparta 2035” will unfold in the mid-2030s in Africa, where the forces of the terrorist organization “Daamat” and the independent elite mercenary detachment “Sparta” will collide. As the commander of Sparta, players will have to form a squad, participate in a variety of turn-based battles, understand the true causes of the conflict and maneuver between different factions. The released Sparta 2035 gameplay video lasts just under two minutes and shows the squad at work: Sparta participants clear locations from enemies using different weapons and environmental elements.

The developers staged a demonstration of the gameplay of “Sparta 2035” in connection with the postponement of the demo version, which was supposed to be released on April 30. The team needs more time to polish, eliminate bugs and bring various elements to perfection. The full version of Sparta 2035 promises a story campaign with more than 20 missions, 10 unique veteran mercenaries, the world's reaction to the player's decisions, a variety of enemies and weapons, humor and references to popular culture. The release of “Sparta 2035” is expected in the fourth quarter of this year. Previously, IDI allocated 90 million rubles for development - while, as Lipsar Studio noted, in general, approximately 200 million rubles are required to create the game.

Since today is the day of russian state sponsored slop. This piece of code now has a steam page. And a demo.

Trailer looks pretty bad.

Why do they giving money for something like this? Why state doesn't invest in Ice-Pick Lodge or Black Book devs? Pathologic 3 could use some extra money for better boobs mechanics

Russian government is too clinically insane to be in touch with reality and sponsor potentially good shit. This is probably a scheme to steal money anyway.

Looks like a bootleg JA3, they clearly need better animations for the game because it looks cheap af.

Just to add a bit - game lead and director's first game have been UFO Defense and later on he played all X-Com's to death. How could theyimplement this game - time will tell. We had pletora of "founding fathersof a genre" failing miserably.

I'd go against the crowd here and say that the game may have some potential. Most likely it will turn out crap though - but that's true about more or less everything. The point is - being crap is not 100% guaranteed here.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Demo was okay for a nuXcom clone. The one thing I really enjoyed was that taking overwatch means risk, as the guy preparing one must step out of cover to prepare the shot. Meaning, that you could get hit while doing so, and if you get hit, you lose the overwatch. Liked this mechanic. The other thing I liked is that the damage is pretty high. Things die quickly.
