A little trick from the game. If you want to power level your hero or some important unit, put them in a group with units that do not get XP. XP is not lost but those that can get XP get more of it.

Ok to confirm, there is a smaller human town near east border of the map called Audale, if you can bring your reputation with it to top level you get a building that takes 10 turns to build but lets you have one more unit in your stacks. They also sell Paladins and Mentalists so basically awesome to murder Undead.

Haven't played much yet but it really does closely resemble AoW III in game play mechanics, which is a good thing. But I do already have a bunch of minor questions.

How much damage does flanking add and are there "secret" combat mechanics that aren't explained? And is there a list of hotkeys and a way to configure key bindings?(I'm mainly looking for a shortcut to save the game without going through the menu.)

What are the best Apprentice traits you have found?

Killing Raith gives you his Death page - featuring Death March, which resets movement points for a stack for 9 mana. Extremely potent and spammable.

No on both counts.

Is there any way to increase the amount of units you can have in a stack?
Yes. One way is to get orc city to like you, another is to level up your Tower with Proficiency levels (lvl 25 and lvl 100 give each +1). There are probably more ways.
Which orc city, the one in the East or the one in the south?
Ahhh in me map it is in the far west, which means the final place i will go.

Yes,the best city for now in the game. Lacrymas i don't think that the cities are random since you choose your starting region at the start of the game and they have the same shit in them.

The ones that give you more altfire thingies. Leveling them all is pretty hard, and their main plus is the lodge, and there is no certanty that you will get its upgrades by leveling :negative:

Gift costs 9 mana, and gives you rep with a town at a cost of 1 gold = 1 rep.

Magic coffer costs 9 mana, and gives you current rep gold (max rep is 200), and lowers rep by 10.

No cooldown on any of them.

So you found an endless money generating machine and it comes from Dwarven magic, very fitting :D
:keepmyjewgold:

And cooldown is how much mana you can spend per turn.

Finished the game as well, week 18, surprised me since I didn't notice you just need 3/6 goals. Good pacing by the devs, doesn't let it outgrow its welcome.

Game is great, very cool with how the story is told and you get bits and pieces.

Very swingy combat, with high dmg to hp pool, and lots of hard counters. Tons of broken shit to find and use, very fun, but the game can still throw curve balls.

Hopefully they will support the game like they did for FG2, this one is even better.

You guys look like you are having fun? Can I join?
Join us in our fun!
Going for my 2nd attempt after being smashed in my first attempt. Note to self: try not to tick of circle mages too early!
This time I decided to rush my tower to the huge allfire node and see what happens. Its not a smart move but its one I was curious to try and we will see how it works out later this evening when I have more time to play. As soon as my tower could move I just scooched it over to the mega node and am now trying to hold it with summons and t1 gobbos, what could go wrong!

It is more of a king's bounty but with turns, which is sad. It would have been better game if they did go the KB rout. Not a bad game, but not as good as AoW 1&2. 3 is mediocre and generic muh science shit.

Now you have to play as a Necro since no one else in the thread is doing it.

Started as necro at advenced difficulty. :D Crafting undead is kinda neat, also got some raise dead spells and sacrificing goblin scum for HP regen and raising zombies, all in the name of greater good:smug:. Only problem is undead don't regen normally but after some level ups I got magical regen that effects them.
Seems like a mash up AoW, MoM and Kings Bounty right now.

How does it rate compared to AoW3?
Different game, this is more like if HoMM was more RPG like. Also no siege battles.
A lot of mechanics, particularity related to how combat plays and feels (and combat is the core of both games), are lifted straight from AoW3. But none of the declined ones and Eo has a better art direction. On a strategic/adventure level they have different focus.

Early game vampire acolytes are your friends as they cannot die if you win the battle. Later you might get some new grimoire pages and heal spell might reveal itself, it works even on Undead on strategic map.

And another unrelated tip I just figured out recently, primordial forests that can be harvested and have the little allfire sign on it give you +1(or +2) allfire if they are within your domain, you do not need wisps to merge with it. Also do not harvest them. I wish I knew this early as I had spell that creates more, I would have done that and earned a lot of extra mana over time.

Yeah using the aid spell, it saved my ass a lot at first turns. Now I can shit undead from basic goblin units, paired from crafting skeleton archers and magi they become pretty useful suicide stacks.

Primordial forests are also a spell from the nature school and they give Allfire too.

Yes, that is the spell I was talking about. There is also a version for water if one wishes to take their Tower and go hide over water :D
