What makes Vengeance better than Raaaaaage? The mechanics were easy to learn (well, not sniper easy) and I never had real problems with lack of dps or survival. They even added some selfheal ability when getting hit, making the class even better.

JK's problem when I played back in the days was: you get your healer companion after Balmorra (lvl 40ish), while the CIS Warrior gets it in his 20s. Makes it easier and reduces downtime (there was no Ewok when I played), while JK has to suffer.

Also regarding the CISquisitor: once you get over the shift from scheming to power aquiring it actually makes sense. Being a Shitlord is all about getting moah power. Also the whole last chapter is about revenge (like the SW), making it a far better motivation than... what others have. Then ending cutscene for SW and SI are the best overall. Not just some parade or medal, no, you sit on your throne (or tell the council not to fuck with you. EVAH! :finger: ). If only Ashara weren't such an annoying brat.

Funny enough I usually stay away from casters, I prefer hitting things with blunt weapons like axes. But Scorcerer is.... fun. And so fucking OP on top of that, without having to deal with the annoying cover mechanic that destroys the flow. Static bubble makes you untouchable, mechanics make abilities instant, heals, combat rezz... Named her Codexia for a reason. All hail Codexia! :salute:

That's why I would be rolling a Sage (that's the pub sorc right?) for the free 60.
But anyway two things. I keep seeing people spam referral links in chat. Some offering 500k to come to some point on the map at which point they will give 8 days of sub time. Is this the scam of Swtor or what. And is there anything I should get with cartel coins? Anything vital? I see the Dark initiates robes for a low price b
Clicking on that ref link if you are subber gives you only 7 days extra time, a free char transfer (worth 90 cybershekelz) and a bag with items that I think unlocks a few benifits once you drop down to pref again. The guy whos link you clicked however gets 500 cybershekelz and some pet each time somebody cllicks his link. Yes, it's a scam. Use the link of some fellow Codexian instead.
Dunno what to buy with those coins, save 180 for a sneaky name change option if you like, then spend the rest on vanity stuff.

They are both good. Rage is more AoE orientated though and is quite funny in PvP when everyone bunches up (buffed auto crit Smash hitting for 12K on each target :D).

I believe all three specs are fine for leveling. If you go Immortal just put on all DPS gear. I like Rage because I use moar Force techniques.

Edit: I wish they had more Dooku/Makashi-ish animations :( Main reason I avoided Vengeance.

Being a Shitlord is all about getting moah power.
By being a dicklord stealing it from others though!

Not collect 4 artifac-- I mean ghosts.

True Sith do not need revenge. They merely bend others to their will.

That's weird that it works for current subscribers, too but whatever.

Everybody post theirs and we can all be referrers of each other lol: http://www.swtor.com/r/t4YSnQ

I wonder if I can refer myself.

I've never been a fan of DoT abilities, I had to use them as a Sentard to stay alive without a healer.

Dexi was a nice Shitlord, I even released them in the end. Except the Hoth one, he grew too attached to me. I ended up as Dork Occlus, because trying to gain browny points with the clownfish evened out all my shocktherapies.

If you think about it, being a LS 'quis is pretty sad: You get thrown into the academy against your will, every other pupil you are nice to gets either killed in front of you or you are forced to kill them yourself. The only person nice to you only plans to take over your body, your next master just sends you to your death, Jedi Knights don't believe you and just attack you for being a Sith and so on. It's all just a big misunderstanding! No wonder she snapped eventually and just wrecked havok. I never played the Reven DLC, but I heared it gets even more downhill, where she wishes being a simple slave again.

Such a poser. Nice outfits though, especially the sorc. My toons are all wearing budget outifts, being spacepoor and all that. My only expensive stuff is a prrrrrple crystal (most likely dirt cheap now), which was a stupid idea since a red outfit fits the SW a lot better. And since nobody told me that you actually loose money from the higher level slicing tasks, I uuuuh, nevermind.
At least I got a nice speeder and some dye modules, when the f2p restrictions forced me to spend my moneyz. Though the lack of color unificashun makes them look like a parrot. One dye module even magically inverted, very strange.

But apparentely it is enough to get a "you look nice" tell from some creep when I logged in a few days ago to check on my toons. :? Halp! It's Drozana all over again...

Question: What spec should I level as a Shadow? Or is most fun. Any of the Disciplines have good AOE attacks so I can just blitz past normal/weak mobs?

Serenity is the better AoE with getting Force in Balance early on, plus DoT spread later. Overall, I think infiltration is more fun to play, particularly in a group, but it sucks until around level 41 or so. Serenity is definitely the way to go solo for a good while.

Also, it has no positioning requirements since unlike infiltration it doesn't make use of shadow strike.

Gotcha, thanks. I'd probably shoot myself without an AOE for killing 3-groups of normal/weak mobs. How's Kinetic with all DPS gear for leveling? I hear people saying it's pretty good, and it starts with an AOE too, albeit ~1/2 the strength of FiB.

Good, though you'll probably need a healer companion to make them work well...they feel a little fragile at low level compared to other tanks until you start to get mods with Shield & Absorb on them...

Yeah, I've seen that getting traction too. Can't say I tried it myself. When I leveled kinetic it was looong time ago. That might be a pretty fun mix at level 26-28 when you get slow time and its damage buff. I can also see it being a medal farming demigod in PvP while leveling.

If he plans going DPS gear in kinetic it wouldn't make sense to get defense based enhancements anyway.

Sort of...your best bet is to use Resolve plates instead of Force Welder plates combined with either Aptitude Mods (Power) or Robust Mods (Absorption) and Adept (Power + Surge) / Battle (Crit + Surge...though these are bugged on a lot of levels with Shield + Surge for some reason) Enhancements or Vigilant Enhancements (Shield + Absorption). You are going to want some defence stats playing Kinetic otherwise there is no point and you may as well use a DPS spec. The extra focus on Willpower over Endurance from Resolve plates and on your Earpiece and Implants does enough to make you kill quicker without losing to much from your defences.

The passive armor mitigation from the class combined with kinetic ward, bulwark, and situational use of battle readiness and resilience far outweigh any additional benefits you get from enhancements at their leveling budgets such that calling it pointless without them seems an exaggeration. I don't think it matters much at all one way or the other, but since leveling in this game is pretty easy regardless, I would just go with more DPS in the enhancements (excepting accuracy) for a lower TTK.

You are right it doesn't really matter much in solo play...just go with what you feel comfortable with. I'm probably biased in this regard...I've played with way to many PUGs in Flashpoints and Heroics when levelling where the tank is running DPS gear and they complain that the healer can't keep up with the damage they receive.

Oh, well don't queue as a tank while wearing that for sure. :D

At least that problem should be pretty well fixed tomorrow with everything turning into tacticals while leveling.

Level 48 on my Trooper, about to be level 49. Completed Voss. Very lulzworthy playing it as a dark side Jennifer Hale. The main mission giver on the planet absolutely hates my guts now. His responses are just perfect.

"You're the leader of the Republic's finest. No wonder we're in such a mess."

"I can't understand how someone like you could hold the rank and position you hold."

This is the first dark side Republic character I've played, and the dialogue is fucking perfect. Some people are shit scared of you, others get annoyed (like General Garza), and people like this guy are just plain disgusted. It is fantastic and sure beats the Cub Scout light side path where you have to be nice or apologetic to everyone.

I've really enjoyed Republic Trooper so far, and Tanno Vik is one of the very best companions in the whole game.

Major WTF moment happened just now.

A Senator backed by the Empire called a hearing into the misconduct of my squad, and I actually had the option to shoot him right there, in the Senate building. So of course I took it! I thought BioWare would cheat me out of it, the way BioWare so often does, but give them huge credit, they actually let me do it. The responses from the other Senators was exactly as you'd expect. They went crazy that I actually executed an unarmed man right in front of them. General Garza is going to be fucking pissed.

I've played 5 classes now and that is without doubt one of the best moments I've had in this game. Fuck, I want to play it again. Might watch it on YouTube on a loop.

Don't worry, I'm experienced vanilla WoW tank. For example the first person to yell at is the DPS. Usually it's the Warlock that pulls aggro.

I have to admit. I'm liking the Sith Warrior story. It started slow but by the time I left Nar shadaar I began to feel like a true scheming lord of the sith. Making allies and laying plans for the fall of Darth fat arse and my inevitable ascension. Also the voice actress learned to stop speaking in bullet points and channel some Darth Vader. But every once in a while I can tell that the devs are just using canned and flat sounding responses.

I notice that a lot with the voices or sound effects. Some things have no sounds that should. While insignificant things do. I also notice voice director and script errors. The imperial agent at one point while using her republic voice suddenly changes and speaks to a person she is trying to fool in her imperial British tone and then reverts back. But I guess it could also be deliberate. Since her tone is slightly mocking when she delivers the line.

But anyway. What is it with this game and lightsaber drops? The only ones I've found are story mission rewards and the ones for sale have light/dark requirements. Which I can't use thanks to trying to play honorable and smart. The ones on the AH have a massive price tag for crap stats. Much like everything else on the AH. I can get weapons for everyone else but my Sith.

I fear that expressing the following opinion is akin to farting in church, but …

I am so fucking sick of hearing Jennifer fucking Hale's ubiquitous faux-posh contralto.

Fuck that annoying bitch.

Lol servers are dyin' as people try to GRUDILGNDIRGDN LEKVEL.

Also with the 12xp boost, Makeb (start of Hutt Cartel) gives 350k xp just for going through opening cutscene/dialogues. And then 500k xp for the first mission. Don't forget to get a GSI Bolster. I just did it so it would register the chievee's (level 20, 30, 40, etc.) for my age-olde Assassin who is 50 (51 now). CHEEVEES
