While there’s questions of priority with the cold cash, it’s in the actual research which the hard decisions start. As you play each mission, there’s the option to gather Protoss and Zerg tech. As you collect it, you climb the respective tech-tree. At each stage, you get the choice between two mutually exclusive upgrades. So – for example – choosing between the specialist-close-combat blast-field robo-dogs (Well, they looked like dogs to me) will stop you getting the hardy transporter, and vice versa.
There’s a degree of non-linearity to it, with you being able to select from a number of missions. In other words, get stuck and you can go off and do something else, then return later with some better guns.
They’re also cutely reactive – in the first, one of your advisers suggests you not to try and take two at once, because they’re going to send in an enormous response. Being stupidly macho, you give it a shot – which the adviser comments on what a ballsy move that was. Good luck with it, eh?

At which point things get a bit messy as the Protoss pile on. Well, you were warned.
It has C&C, the most important feature of all in ar pee gees.

Looks interesting, but still that doesn't makes it worth buying three times at full price.

oh that discussion again how fascinating i think its really three expansions but theyre bigger so theyre not really expansions so they cost more but they cost too much like full game but we dont really know if its justified cause you get all three races on multiplayer yeah but youll still need expansions for multiplayer cause theres new units so okay maybe we should wait cause we dont know but then skyway says lolol we should play the game before we decide what are we popamole and someone else says should we trust the previews and then it goes on like that for a couple of pages and then sanity returns

okay so that's done now lets discuss something interesting kthxbai

you don't have to buy expansions to play all races on multiplayer so I don't see a problem there because SC2 is a mp game and sp is just a bonus.

You are very naive. Do you really believe Blizzard will just release two campaigns (which only makes it more retarded as they will be selling them for a price of a full addon, each) without any new units and improvements?
And good luck finding a multiplayer game for vanilla SC2 then. Yeah technically they are correct - you'll be able to play all 3 races in MP. For a while.

SC2 is a mp game and sp is just a bonus.
"SP is just a bonus" is a very stupid excuse. It wasn't a bonus in SC1 and BroodWar before moronic fanboi-friendly excuses for not working more on the game existed. Yeah Blizzard's SP often sucks, they should've improved it instead.

I had years of fun with original StarCraft on multiplayer but sp missions bored me as hell and I never finished it. I think it's going to be similar with SC2. I completed WC2 and WC3 campaigns but didn't find them very interesting too, while I had years of fun on mp with them as well. And Diablo II too. I couldn't stand it's sp but I was playing on mp like mad.

Blizzard's games are for mp only imo.

Really? Dune 2, one of the earlier, modern RTS games didn't even have multi player. Or dozens of other RTS games after it. What are RTS games supposed to be played on if not a computer, a console? Good one.

I'm pretty sure the beta doesn't have AI support.

Herzog Zwei had multiplayer in 89. Warcraft 1 in 94 and Command and Conquer 95 both had multiplayer. Quality multiplayer is the most important aspect of any RTS game.

By computers, I meant RTS AI is not very good, compared to the skill of a human player.

Many people want to play Starcraft 2 mainly for the single player and I'm one of them. I enjoy RTS games, I don't enjoy getting raped in the first five minutes of a match. If the ladders make multi a bit more accessible, I'll try it. If not, pass.

It's the best automatching system I've ever used by a long shot. I guess the large player pool helps.

The newb maps have anti-rush features in them. Bases are separated by destroyable rocks that smooth out the first few minutes for players who don't know every build order and counter by heart.

The AI in the beta is nearly non-existent, you have to download modded AIs to have something that actually fights.

Seven Kingdoms. Despite looking like another duneclone faggotry, it actually had some non-homosexual gameplay elements within.

Other than that, duneclone RTSes are for subhumans.

I don't think it will be about races to begin with. Think SC MP to Brood War MP.
