Knowing Bethesda, most of the content of Starfield would probably just be some dickhead NPC saying something like "we found a new planet. I'll mark it on your starchart. Now go there"
As an avid explorefag, I would love to play a game as a guy whose job is to prospect remote planets and try to find point of interests or whatever.

"Welcome back ! how was your five month mission to planet XCSF-754 ?
-It was tiring and boring but the sky was green and I found some algae and a weird wreck with this broken machinery. Also the planet is now called Glarglelelele.
-Wonderful ! here are your 5860.5 credits and now go buy a new hyperdrive or whatever and come back to me when you have taken a shower."

Isn't that basically No Man's Sky? Never played it so I don't really know, I just know that a big selling point was going around exploring worlds.
Also Starbound and Genesis Alpha are kind of like that.

Did try but found it an overall catastrophe. Tedious and broken on a fundamental level. Its randomly generated environments were also missing any personality, there was no incentive to explore apart from some resource grind.
My golden reference for randomly generated planets is Noctis IV. A 2MB DOS game which somehow manages to create a compelling gameplay by having to get a bit out of your way to find new planets, with a distinct alien atmosphere. A marvelous example of doing more with less.

almost, in theory. in practice every single inch of nms has already been explored and colonized by somebody else who didn't bother to register his discoveries but planted enemies to shoot at you if you try to.

Wow, rated for supremely high-impact drug use? That's both wacky in terms of setting and disappointing in terms of gameplay.
It would be in keeping for the setting if futuristic space-suits contained built-in drug injectors, a concept appearing in many SF stories, such as Michael Swanwick's "The Very Pulse of the Machine" from 1998, which was adapted last year for the third season of "Love, Death, and Robots".

What? I've always considered eating 100 wheels of cheese in one sitting and while fighting a dragon to be the Dovahkiin's most impressive feat of strength. He didn't even experience intestinal discomfort after.

That's why there's no Akaviri race so far -- all that dairy would give Dragonborn-San a serious case of Bangkok-belly.

It really is just to push people to use their shitty Creation Club service. It's also why they are unlocking CC content for free with some versions of Skyrim or FO4; to get people used to that crap so they can pave the way for paid mods.
Ah, so CC plugins don't disable cheevos? Makes sense, I guess. CC is another thing that's alien to me. Which isn't helped by Bethesda not even letting you browse the thing without an account, a bit of a counterintuitive marketing strategy there.
Well, if people knew what the Creation Club offers, they'd probably get second thoughts. I've got quite a lot of the rotating freebies, but I don't remember actually using any of it.

Like, imagine if it was a game inspired by Alien Covenant and you're on a jungle planet exploring million year old Architect tombs and dodging xenomorphs and predators while also helping the humans to build a successful colony and deal with corporate backstabbers.
but you can't help them build successful colony. because everyone is ghey.

Have they showed any other videos of Starrim? The last one I saw looked like some generic FPS in space.

Are they going to have ships or anything, or is it basically just like shitty Destiny?

Okay, enough. Thread split coming soon if you don't all get back on-track about Starfield.
Starfield will be dogshit and the converastion we were having was and will be 10x better than any conversation that could be had about this dogshit game. Carry on though.

With over 1000 planets in Starfield, one of them is most certainly Nirn, so fuck off.
It would be pretty funny if you can land on Nirn, one shot the Dragonborn with a space-glock and then leave on your space ship with no comment.
Like a chad.
