That interview is yet another reminder that Todd Howard has more prestigious taste in RPGs than the majority of Codexers.

I've never heard of Sundogs or Traveler, and I've never heard an oldfag talk about them before, so given he was also member of his school chess club, Todd does have more oldfag RPG/gamer cred than anybody here.

In case you don't get it, that was also a lie.

I can't remember which it is, either his high school or college had a chess club and everyone assumes he was talking about the one that didn't have one.

Getting sent to do grunt work is what mercs and subordinates do, not Generals and not the Director of a clandestine organisation of scientists. That's literally what Coursers and Synths are for.
It would be funny if that formula inverts itself and you got to give out radiant quests to your NPCs when you were in charge. And then if you ran into them in the field, they would be doing the quest you gave them.

I like this idea. But only if the NPCs have detailed animated grimaces for when I inform them that another colony needs their help.

"Peon Ensign! I need 10 space-bear asses! Get to it!"
NPC: "Ugh, this fucking game job, man..."

Have they showed any other videos of Starrim? The last one I saw looked like some generic FPS in space.

Are they going to have ships or anything, or is it basically just like shitty Destiny?
They've showed some extra-orbital dogfights. Remains to be seen how travelling between planets will actually work though.

This video would've been quality if they didn't call the mountain-climbing thing a lie, but they did so it's an F for Faggotry.

Just because retards are too used to railroaded JRPGs to realise you don't need to follow a fucking road any time you want to get somewhere, doesn't mean you can't get there.

Actually, I'm having second thoughts. If we do operate by Beth logic, wouldn't that mean that once the NPC gets you the 10 space-bear asses, you have to immediately make him your space-king? You'd still get to send him hunting for space-bear asses, of course, but he'd outrank you.

"Admiral Redshirt, the Legion of Startopia needs you to depart the SS Codexia immediately to the surface of this unexplored planet to find 34 stellar nirnroots! You will of course go alone!"

Rapidly promoted Ex-Ensign NPC: "Aye aye, Lt. DickbagPC. (Grumble... this guy is useless, he doesn't do anything.)"

Good idea, bonus points for being able to take over bases and other locations worth of notice sending your people there, and also getting something worth while for doing so.

Codex vatniks in shambles.

Russian language support was cut earlier this week.

Nothing that can't be rectified by themselves.
The best part is, it's mostly done by the exact same people who preach about inclusivity and the rest of anti-European neo-marxist talking points.
So much for their tolerance and "it's not all the muslims, jews, whatever, it's only the extremeists".

Not to mention the near entire populace of the panicking formerly Soviet nations, including Ukraine itself, are fluent in Europe and would play the game in Russian.

I've played every Bethesda RPG on release since Arena. That was one of the first games I got for my first PC along with Ultima 8, 7, Tie Fighter, Sam and Max and Doom. I still play most of them. This is going to be awful. We've seen how it's going to be after Redfall, single player online only with added Denuvo so for once they can't rely on players to salvage their broken arse game. It's aimed at XBox and Gamepass. I'm tempted to give it a miss but will probably be worth the price just to see how bad it is. I hope I'm wrong. But it could be the new Ultima 9.

The one bright point in a sea of bad omens is that they didn't release Starfield last November, implying that they actually want to put out a product that's not a pump and dump cash grab like Redfall.
