I'm really in awe at how much Bethesda fucked up with this one lmao.

Brings me back to the Oblivion days and the Codex outrage at how shit the game was, except this time it is the mainstream normies that are raging while Codexers are actually slurping this slop. Fancy that.
Nah, the goys are all over this slop.

I found some cool landmarks too but didn't screenshot them. They didn't look anything what you guys found tho, so it seems like there really is a lot of variety in what you can find out there in the STARFIELD

Genderfluidsquids confirmed..(apologies for picture quality I'm on my tablet)

The streamer reaction though... nobody wants that shit in games. But here they are choking on it

He went on an epic rant afterwards..he's still playing

He's a youtuber, it's his job to check on pop culture stuff and see what makes it tick and what makes it shit.

Here's how I played Starfield: I RUSHED the main quest in 20 hours, and then explored everything else after. The postgame is something I haven't seen in any game. It's the most interesting ending since Nier Automata. Yes I just made that comparison.

Yeah, I should really get started on the main quest!! But for some reason I can't really bring myself to go through another Bethesda main quest... maybe I'll just keep killing and looting stuff and leveling up to explore the level 70 solar systems instead. Tho I'm afraid I'm locking myself out of a lot of content.... mhhhh

edit: Fine, let's rush it and be done with it, then I can go back to mining rocks.

best game since Oblivion
Best game since literally their worst game lmao
Oblivion is better than skyrim.
It still had stats and satisfying faction progression, sure. Skyrims guild quests are objectively terrible, all of them.

But to this day it boggles my mind how bland the Imperials are in Oblivion. At least the Nords in Skyrim got some cultural nuance with the civil war, Ulfric etc.
Couldn't even join the Legion or the Imperial Cult in Oblivion. There's more Imperial content in Morrowind.

Wandering the world randomly in search of maps
It's funny because all the pieces are here to make The Greatest Space Game Ever but they had to hack and cheat to put them together.

-Fly to planet - load screen
-Land on planet - load screen
-Exit ship - load screen
-Walk to base and enter - load screen???? You land on an empty field with one building and it's still a separate map behind a load screen.

Bethesda's aversion to contiguous game spaces is beyond belief. Was this designed for the 360? Is the XxxboxXYZ Series S A-spec Turbo really such a potato machine? It's not the engine because Open Cities exists.

Someone might ask "Do you really want more boring space travel?" (yes) but they could have at least hid the load screens better. No Man's Sky doesn't actually have seamless planet-space travel but you can skim the surface and it hides the load screen with atmosphere effects pretty well. Since the cutscene of my ship going places is a stupid waste of time, just show an icon zipping over the galactic map. There, done.

thank god for level scaling or I'd be too OP for the main quest

Bethesda's aversion to contiguous game spaces is beyond belief.
it works exactly like in prevoius games. open world is one large space and interiors are isoloated spaces that require a load screen.

Ranger questline is way cool. Just got called into a debriefing where my superiors went over my actions over the four previous quests, offering praise where I got things right and calling me a cunt where I got things wrong.

Someone do me a favour and tell me what the fuck is going on with non-lethal weapons. I spent big cash on non-lethal rifles for me and Sarah and as far as I can tell, Sarah's literally does nothing at all. Mine, meanwhile, causes a blue bar to appear above an enemy's head. After literally eight or nine shots, the bar fills, and they collapse to the ground. I receive no XP.

Approaching the unconscious person gives me the option to press E to talk. Doing so does nothing. Crouching and pressing E lets me pickpocket them. There is a chance of being caught, which causes them to immediately spring upright and start shooting me again.

Lazy as fuck, as always.

Apparently it only takes 100 years or so
for every single sign of civilization to be erased from Earth.
Except for a couple of magic buildings/landmarks that somehow stand unscathed so you can visit them with the soyjack pointing meme and take pictures.

When there is crowd panic because of shooting or some shit it's not even localized yelling and screaming, it's just some distant "yelling crowd" sound effect playing in the background.
Wait, so let's say we have an NPC her X and you are here O X----O Then the sound is, what?, here? S-----X----O?

What the fuck. Trees are still growing in my fucking base even though I build walls and shit! That's some bullshit!
Starfield-9-3-2023-3-07-52-PM.png
Man buildeth, nature reclaimeth.
all the terrain is randomly re-generated when you re-visit a planet. Wouldn't it make more sense to generate it once and re-use so the landscape doesn't change all the time? Weird.
This is an issue from Fallout 76, You place down your CAMP and you place down a CAMP item that effectively removes a tree but then when you load up your camp in a new server the tree has overwritten that and now clips through your CAMP.

One thing i find funny is that no matter how much effort people put into making fancy screenshots, and no matter how many graphic mods they use, Bethesda games looks like total shit to me, and this is no exception.

They *sort* of look good at a glance, but once you start looking at the detail it's all fucked up.

There is no charm of the original Fallouts, the setting is quite boring and sterile. I am still outraged that there are no intelligent aliens and hot Twi'lek women.
can't wait for mods to fix those ugly spacesuits into something more sexy
This is the criticism I most strongly disagree with. With the exception of Bethesda-face, the aesthetics are on point for the semi-grounded vibe they're going for. To tell you the truth, I skip most RPGs because I'm sick of the Renaissance Fair "Everything and the Kitchen Sink" high fantasy vibes they all insist upon. What made Tolkien's world great was that he didn't abide by tropes--since there wasn't a general fantasy canon yet--and he showed restraint when dealing with fantastical elements. Most of Lord of the Rings is remarkably mundane. The thing about going all-in on the fantasy is that you very quickly oversaturate its impact. A whimsical dryad speaking to me through a dream is a cool premise... except when I already have a demon companion and an inventory full of reality-altering spells, I've already run into a wizard's cloning program, and gnomes are kidnapping women for an ogre breeding program. You soon arrive at a point where nothing has any punch to it. Tolkien made an intense scene out of Gandalf lighting pinecones on fire.

It seems to have generated some spicy reactions.

He makes me embarrassed to agree.

Jeremy Soule got tangled in metoo shit? Tell me more.
Someone answered but it is on his wiki. It was the usual metoo bs. Someone accused him. He scrubbed social media once more people started shitting on him. Game companies all abandoned him. He never was served anything, no court, nothing at all. But nobody will still work with him. One accusation ruined him. Out of all the metoo shit, this one bummed me out the most. Being robbed of beautiful music because of one stupid cunt making unfounded claims.

How are cities in the game? Are they big, fun to explore, and have lots of content?

That's more interesting than the actual planet hopping for me.
The first city, New Atlantis is terrible. I too love exploring cities too. This is one of the worst ones I have ever had the displeasure of exploring. The cities after that, actually get kind of cool. If you can get past New Atlantis, from a city exploration perspective, it becomes somewhat interesting. I won't go into the demographics of the city in this response out of respect.

As for content, yes there is a lot of it. You just have to be thorough.

With the cities being so vast and so populated with generic NPCs, I think you pretty much have to use the security guards, unless you want to individually approach hundreds of NPCs to try and search for the one or two that are actually interactive.
The low setting for the crowd density doesnt get rid of enough NPC's. A setting or a mod to get rid of them entirely would be great for people who just want to see the actual interactable NPC's and the racist.

Sorry if I'm out of the loop, I've been mining rocks for 20 hours.
You seem like an actualy psychopath in many ways, but this had me cracking up. Keepin mining my man!

Other notes:
-The culture warriors are exaggerating. New Atlantis is nowhere close to all black. It isn't even majority black. There are plenty of white people, both in randomly generated pedestrians and quests/permanent NPCs. No one racial group is in the majority for background NPCs, so white-skinned characters are a minority, but neither are black people, Asians, Indians, or Hispanic/mixed characters. For quest/permenant NPCs there are a higher percentage of white characters. About 40% I'd say, eyeballing it. And while forced diversity like that can be annoying when present in fantasy or historical games without a good explanation, that level of diversity makes plenty of sense for a sci-fi game. That is just based on New Atlantis though, as I haven't really visited the other factions major settlements yet.

Women are also not in all the positions of power while men are just there to be made fun of. I have encountered many powerful men, sometimes even powerful white men, in leadership positions while the very first character I encountered being mocked like that is actually a woman. When entering new Atlantis you encounter a group who had fled from a station that was attacked. The leader of that outpost, a woman, is acting like a complete selfish incompetent (Karen) and she didn't even properly handld the evacuation. The only reason that anyone escaped was actually due to the actions of an older white male, who is presented as the hero of the tale. That woman is promised a new job commensurate to her abilities, and you later find her working in a coffee shop, but being incompetent there as well.

If the very idea of a non-white character in a video game or position of power not held by a man sends you into a frenzy, good luck with that, but the claims that there are almost no non-white characters and that the ones there are are for comic relief is a straight up lie.

I was annoyed to see the pronoun stuff make it's way into yet another character creator, though. Although, so far only one gay couple presented (and also in the background) while there have been at least half a dozen straight couples I have encountered. So far they seem to be sticking to fairly realistic ratios for that rather than making 70% of all couples gay as happens with some games that embrace the woke.
You are full of shit. New Atlantis is easily 80% black, 10% brown mutt, 5% brown asian, 5% white/tanned white. The leaders of almost all important factions and positions of power are women/black. The history of the world, where the dead or missing people are spoken of, who held positions of power, are also black/women. You are a lying troll who defends this shit every single chance you get.

Either way it's protocol to shit on the new Bethesda game until the next game comes out, then this one becomes everyone's favorite. You can see it starting already itt people saying that it isn't as good as Fallout 4
That's because it isn't as good as Fallout 4. But I have always enjoyed F4.

I just got back to the lodge and saw some bellend with a cowboy hat and texshit accent. I couldn't roll my eyes any further back into my skull if I tried. I'm guessing cowboy planet is Akillia or something that they're trying to send me to?

Unbelievably lazy world building... Cowboys in space. Go fuck yourselves.
You sound like someone who should spend more time in New Atlantis. It would be perfect for you. There is a whole lot to complain about, not sure space cowboys is really worth it.

but I'd like to go back and surgically remove Markus "Notch" Persson's fingers so he could never infect the world of video games with the wretched curse of SURVIVAL CRAFTING
What don't you like about it?

They were already more transparent than the rest of the industry
We have technical limitations there, frankly.
& that's some euphemistic way to put this

Fallout 76 is an online only game.

I don't understand why we have all these weird looking animal aliens but no species that achieved any technological progress. Like, what's the basis?

High intelligence is not an unavoidable evolutionary outcome and may very well have been a rare fluke.
there are flying fucking aliens in the background yet I'm talking with an average John Doe who is "on thin ice with his foreman" I'm not buying it
Starfield-9-3-2023-9-57-56-PM.png
I bet "the foreman" was that mutt behind him or some women complaing about him.
