Starfield no longer in the Steam top 20.

BG3 is number 4.

It's over.
bg3 is co-op

do you really think a turn based single player RPG could pull these numbers?
In a month or two Skyrim will have a bigger player base then Starfield.
nothing to do with Starfield, but people really seem to think BG3 could pull these numbers if it was a pure single player game

hate to break it to you but it’s not THAT good
I don't care about BG3 and I might be wrong but I'm under impression it's still popular due all the nsfw content.

It's popular because it is accessible and good. Even if you don't agree that it is the best CRPG ever you cannot deny that Larian knows how to rope in casuals the way other studios don't. The exact opposite of Starfield which is a completely ivory tower game from Todd. If you are not mad about space games why would you be super invested in Starfield?

idk man, I got bored in Act 2 and uninstalled to make space for Starfield. I've been meaning to continue my playthrough but nothing (except Shadowheart's cooch) really hooked me in. I feel like there's a certain crowd that that game appeals to and it ain't me. Love BG1 and 2 but 3 just hits different. I also hate Larian combat.

On the other hand, Starfield is a game you can fire up and just do whatever. Mods are going to expand that further. I'm currently burned out on the game but I can see myself playing for another 100 hours or so once some new content comes out. I would really love to see better loot for aliens with a deeper crafting system like you would see in survival games and better weapons and armor from enemies. The possibilities are there I just hope modders will care enough about the game to release good mods. As of right now the top recent mods are still UI mods and 'thicc Andreja'.

Unexpected but welcome and hilarious review:

The part about Todd ending jews was especially funny considering recent events.

I love how Vic brought up that PoE has more annoying loading screens as if that automatically invalidates the criticism that Starfield has too many loading screens

You have not lifted Starfield up, you just dragged the bar down so low that SF surpassed it.

The plot starts to fall apart in Act 2. There are extremely interesting parts at the very end, but most of the act is Shadowheart's quest in the temple or dealing with the dumb harpers.

The plot dies at the beginning of Act 3 and seems to get worse from there. I plan to replay it with a Durge build, but the game was pretty disappointing in a lot of ways.

Even saying that though, Act 1 is basically an entire game itself. BG3 is like two or three games in one, and the first 'game' is fairly satisfying, especially in the Underdark.

Starfield just seems pure boredom from beginning to end.

Nobody gonna talk about the fact that Crimson Fleet is far and away the best questline in the game and it was designed by Emil?
You mean the one with the annoying lesbians on the pirate base and with the annoying lesbians on Neon? With no option to ditch much less kill your nigger overlord any second sooner than the game allows you to? The one supposedly about space pirates but no actual piracy done whatsoever? That one?

There are 2 factors with loading screens:
- wasted time -> definetly blown the hell out of proportion. You can get to another planet, enter a house, get an item and get back in the same time you take an elevator ride in cyberpunk.
- immersion wise -> it really really sucks

Nothing more detriment for the immersion than long and/or frequent loading screens. Every time you're starring at that loading screen you're taken out of the game and reminded that you're wasting your life and just how sad your life actually is.

I'm pretty sure the reason characters like Naeva come off as annoying is mostly down to cheap voice acting. They'd be fine with a huskier delivery. Crimson Fleet has by far got the most interesting setup in the game with the most intestering choices and the quests fit the setting better than several others. Also, it has the most interesting choices in the game. Honestly I'm starting to wonder if Emil's biggest issue is that he's too nice to reign in the other quest designers.

Strongly disagree. Naeva in particular is constantly bossing PC around, being sassy in general then their relationship with the other chick (and also how genius she is) written deliberately in your face. Her VO doesn't help sure but it's all based on a rotten fundament.

As for the Neon lesbians, there's just shit writing and quest design all over. You're fucking forced to listen (and therefore to learn about them) and to pay the first lesbian in order to get to the other one. And if you kill the second one, the first one wouldn't even react to that. And if you persuade, which is plain ridiculous as many other persuasion instances in the game, the fucking COO or something of a big corpo to give you the keys to their best technology there'll be no counter-measures whatsoever!

As for the other quest lines are even shittier - well, to that I might agree, why not.

Anyone who talks up Emil's bad writing and bad quest design deserves to be called out at least this hard.

The guy's been overrated since Oblivion. Doing "the best" quest in an awful game isn't an accomplishment.

Not to mention that most of the positives regarding Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood amount to quest design and not storytelling, but again, people like to prop it up regardless.
But let's not forget, this is the same guy who wanted to add all of Garrot's tools from Thief into Oblivion but decided against it simply because modders will do it for them.

Next time you think about buying a new PC, buy a good bicycle instead. Start using it every day, you will fix all your problems that way.
