I'd like to see some lets play thread showcasing the various empires of the 'dexers playing in those multiplayer sessions.
Join in next time. Currently it's just like five of us in total. Once we hit the 8+ mark it becomes more multiplayer and less co-op.
I still haven't gotten used to the administrative rework that added sectors and stuff. But meh, as I've already told GrafvonMoltke, I'll let you know if I change my mind.

Did the game change a lot since the robot dlc? That's when I played it last time 3-4 years ago.
After they changed the pop system, from shitty grids to an even shittier slider system (that was after the Utopia DLC I think), the game became pure fucking garbage. Avoid at all costs, and just wait for Distant Worlds 2

How does multiplayer for a game like this work? Is it just on a set speed of everyone? Are pauses not allowed? Do people all agree to stop at a specific point?

Oh, I thought it was just real time all the time in multiplayer. Everyone being able to pause sounds... rough.

I can see how that works better for a co-op setup than a competitive multiplayer game.

In real terms nobody pauses. It's an adjustment, but you get used to it. The prevailing rule is to agree on a speed setting.

I guess I can see how that'd be fun, the players all working together to oppose some jacked up end game threat. That leaves some room for politicking and squabbling over resources.

Not how I like to play this kind of game, but I can dig it. Any good AARs of any of your multiplayer stellaris games here?

What about those messages where it automatically pauses the game because you need to make some kind of decision? Is that just turned off? Or does it just pause for everyone?
