So it is actually somewhat fun in multiplayer eh? Do you play with all those dlcs?Apart from GrafvonMoltke's internet being powered by an ox-driven mill we had a pretty good first session.

Join in next time. Currently it's just like five of us in total. Once we hit the 8+ mark it becomes more multiplayer and less co-op.I'd like to see some lets play thread showcasing the various empires of the 'dexers playing in those multiplayer sessions.
I still haven't gotten used to the administrative rework that added sectors and stuff. But meh, as I've already told GrafvonMoltke, I'll let you know if I change my mind.Join in next time. That's such a lame excuse. There is nothing to be afraid of.I still haven't gotten used to the administrative rework that added sectors and stuff.
I just can't be bothered. That's such a lame excuse. There is nothing to be afraid of.I still haven't gotten used to the administrative rework that added sectors and stuff.
After they changed the pop system, from shitty grids to an even shittier slider system (that was after the Utopia DLC I think), the game became pure fucking garbage. Avoid at all costs, and just wait for Distant Worlds 2Did the game change a lot since the robot dlc? That's when I played it last time 3-4 years ago.
How does multiplayer for a game like this work? Is it just on a set speed of everyone? Are pauses not allowed? Do people all agree to stop at a specific point?
You assume those playing a grand strategy game aren't there to troll. So it just pauses for everyone?
Can someone be a dick and just pause the game and run off and do something else?
Anybody can unpause as well.So it just pauses for everyone?

In real terms nobody pauses. It's an adjustment, but you get used to it. The prevailing rule is to agree on a speed setting.Oh, I thought it was just real time all the time in multiplayer. Everyone being able to pause sounds... rough.
I can see how that works better for a co-op setup than a competitive multiplayer game.
I guess I can see how that'd be fun, the players all working together to oppose some jacked up end game threat. That leaves some room for politicking and squabbling over resources. In real terms nobody pauses. It's an adjustment, but you get used to it. What about those messages where it automatically pauses the game because you need to make some kind of decision? Is that just turned off? Or does it just pause for everyone? In real terms nobody pauses. It's an adjustment, but you get used to it.
