Here's a little taste of what I am currently involved with. I am responsible for environment modeling, creepy lighting (Enlighten), technical shader arts & prefabs, and of course - performance. Unity HDRP pipeline. Excuse me as I continue to survive Shodan's wrath, need to get this game shipped!
Having played System Shock growing up, the opportunity to work with the fantastic team at OtherSide Austin had a big draw for me. While engaged in leading engineering on an unannounced project at OSE Boston, I managed to find my way to get some time on this historic project. While I can’t say much as it is still unreleased; I will say that we can expect big things from the team down in Austin. They are some of the hardest working, well managed, and most talented developers I have seen assembled.
Why two huge recycling signs on the drone? Looks ridiculous.
Maybe collecting trash or recycling containers or something like that was the drone's original function. Shodan is turning ordinary industrial robots into killer robots, like the hoppers in SS1 which used to be welding robots.

But yeah, haven't seen any markers in current SS3 gameplay. Wouldn't make much sense imo
especially given that you're trapped... lol.... waypoints make sense in games where the area is "mapped out" or someone could guide you somewhere, I would expect.
If SHODAN offered me a minimap I don't think I would trust it
Speaking of which, there are things SHODAN can do to mess with the player, but I can't say more than that

Understanding what made the core Shock games fun and what we could improve upon since SS2 is a big draw
Scrolling through some of the weapon feedback in particular; I'm smiling. The dev team is definitely already thinking in many of the ways you guys are.
I somewhat hope that this is not ending up like Game of Thrones Season 8...

Looks like no SS3 this week; next week you guys might get another article / some news from Warren on things to expect though :D
