I particularly like how Sisyphus will allow for some real moustache-twirling villainy. Killing mentors, wrecking hometowns, riling up the populace, then rubbing in the heroes' face how they couldn't save anyone and how everyone hates them. Most of the Old Ones seem more distant and uncaring when it comes to lesser beings, so having one that lets you play as someone's nemesis is a nice change of pace.

Sisyphus was the Old One I was most looking forward to playing, and damn...

KingDinosaurGames a few questions
1. In Diplomacy and other dealing section, will there be an option of "What would make this deal work"? Because reclicking a suitable deal during negotiations is annoying as hell. Whether AI want 105 gold for somthing, and you have to click 100 then 110, then all in between to determine most profitable deal.
2. I am somewhat concerned that each Old One is issued with "Difficulty" description, I suppose it is how hard for players to fulfill current Old One's victory conditions. Will the challenge levels be rather equal for all Old Ones, to avoid situation when Belial is a "Easymode" where players sit and corrupt without much danger and get to victory without much challenge and as other Old One it is much much harder?

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
KingDinosaurGames, is the reactive map also made with CC3? Can't you keep the map preset, and just roll the world history to generate new scenarios? That would save you the pain of procedurally generating the geographic map.

Going by the non-backer forum, it seems things have hit a big of a snag lately. Anyone who signed up there know anything more?

Josh is now only communicating through a moderator who is volunteering to keep everyone posted on what's going on and has for the past few weeks been spitting out release dates for things like beta release, updates and videos and that keeps falling through so everyone is antsy.

Yeah, they had too rosy of a timeline so people got pissed(it has been 10 months since some sort of "beta" was supposed to be ready, for instance). So they stopped openly communicating because....well, pick your reason. The last update was that they were cutting features temporarily to try and get a beta out before the end of the year....which didn't happen. Suffice to say, does not look good from a development/timeline perspective. Probably too many ideas that they have found are really hard to put into practice without breaking the game. There's no way this comes out this year. Now, I don't really care, but they should probably stop promising certain dates. It just makes people expect things, and then when that doesn't happen they get upset, and KDG looks incompetent in some way.

I suppose its to be expected since it's only two guys and I'm not sure they're even full time on this project.

Good things come to those who wait. This game seems good enough to wait for.

To be fair, he never promised anything, just said that he'd try to get it out by the end of the year (in December):

What we're going to do is disable some of these features so that we can push forward and hopefully get the Beta into people's hands before the end of the month.

People reading targets as promises is one of the reasons why some devs don't want to say a word about their timeline.

Ok yeah, true. "Promises" is a bit strong. Still, people don't like shifting goalposts. I think it's more that multiple times they've said "ok, we'll have something soon probably" and then nothing happened. Why do that to yourself? Just give updates and not dates/times, especially with a kickstarter. Majority of people would be OK with that. It's expectation that sours the mood. Again, not my personal feeling but that's definitely what you see all over the backer forum, Steam, etc.

Heads up for non-backers, Josh's go-between has thrown in the towel after hearing no word from him for two weeks. So unless Josh or Fenicks steps up it's radio silence from now on.

I just want that game to be complete. I don't care how long they take as long as they refine it. We did not have a real and innovative strategy game since years (Behead all those propose Starcraft 2 and i mean it). Seriously can't people wait. We got total war game if we want alphas sold at full price.

If he hasn't been heard from in two weeks, he probably either died, or took the money and ran. Either way, it will probably remain vaporware, as expected.

That limit theory guy went away for six months and came back. Is it a bit weird that we would get radio silence from two people at once though.

Don't forget that the guy behind CubeWorld disappeared for what, 1 or 2 years?
