That limit theory guy went away for six months and came back. Is it a bit weird that we would get radio silence from two people at once though.
Don't forget that the guy behind CubeWorld disappeared for what, 1 or 2 years?

What, he came back?

This was conceptually the coolest game I'd read about in a long, long time but all those updates about all those neat things that kept happening in the game started raising some serious alarm bells. The orc/human diplomatic marriage and infecting the royalty of the world with tainted deep one meat, I mean obviously that's cool as shit if it ACTUALLY HAPPENED but given the inability to show anything more than a few turns of the very beginning of the game it's pretty hard to believe

Eh, I wouldn't freak out from two weeks of radio silence (not even that, someone just e-mailed them and got a "Everything's fine, we're just hard at work" response). A lot of Kickstarters/EA games have much longer periods of radio silence; not hearing anything for months isn't that uncommon.

Well, a ton of stretch goals were added during the KS. After they blew through the original list of stretch goals, a second one was added, and they blew through that, so a third was added, and they blew through that one. Considering that it doesn't seem like they were even expecting to meet all of the original stretch goals, it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of goals were hastily added during the KS because they seemed like they would work, but when it came time to implement them, it turned out they were much more complicated than originally intended.

Yes, KS stretch goals in general have been horrible and lead to a ton of half working features that make the core of the game worse.

Stretch goal - we'll add another continent to explore.
Implementation - both continents are empty because instead of spending the time making continent 1 interesting they were working on making a bare bones continent 2.

Didn't Fargo start that trend with the Wasteland 2 Kickstarter?

Stretch goals are OK conceptually but I guess most of them are under budgeted. I seem to recall the KDG guys stating pretty clearly that meeting stretch goals would mean taking longer to deliver the game.

Well, they suspended the pre-order option, supposedly due to imminent beta launch, at least such they claim.
Hope still lingers.

I poured a half bottle of Jim Beam Kentucky bourbon down the drain tonight, so I could memorialize the $10 I lost on this.

Pah. Why use some silly agents when you can raise thousands of undead, drown the world in eternal winter and wish for Armageddon? When you want to be a murderous god of Evil, there is always Dominions.

Sorry, but this game looked a lot more interesting than Dominions (not saying it is bad).
