First reviews:

"There is a diffrence between making game hard, and unplayable for a player. Unfortunatelly for AoD, it's a second one"

After golden shower of $

"Aod makes something, that we saw already in Dark Souls, but in isometric perspective. Every move may be your last, so just remember that and be prepared for many deaths screens. Truly amazing experience"

:bounce: It's about fucking time Steam greenlit it. They were already too happy accepting such classics as Revelations 2012.

I forgot to ask, what other places will you distribute the game on? Are those DRM free?
Well, you can buy it directly from us (our copy won't have any DRM). Other than that, we're talking to Steam, GoG, GamersGate and most likely the game will be released on all three portals. UK's Green Man Gaming has just emailed us, but I don't know anything about them. Anyone bought any games from them? Russia's Gama Gama (according to Akella who owns it, it's a top 3 digital store in the country) seems to be interested too and offering translation.

So, since we are going with the portals, it would make sense to put it on every portal that wants to deal with us and see what happens. Our copy and GoG's copy will be DRM-free. Can't speak for other portals.
Great. If you get on GoG, I will be tempted to buy it there, but if not, I will purchase it from your site.

As for Green Man Gaming, they are trustworthy as I hear. Although I only bought one game from them, Spec Ops. They gave me a Steam code which I could active.

Can you clarify that for me, please? You bough a game AND got a Steam code or you bought a Steam code (essentially)?

Wouldn't buying a Steam code on Steam make more sense? Why would you buy them on third-party portals?

Discounts? A lot of these sellers give up to 75% or even 90% discounts sometimes on codes. Although I must confess to my ignorance as to how of it. Probably Metro or Multi-headed Cow, our local steal whores, know better.

Yes, it is all about the discounts. For example when I bought Spec Ops, they had it on 75%, pluss I could use a 30% coupon they gave me earlier. And they do this quite regularly. And the best thing is: I could use that 30% coupon on several games, not just that one time.

GMG are legit as hell, when they sell games that are steamworks they just sell keys (e.g. you can't play a steamworks game you bought on their site via their launcher).

My account (all steam keys except for earth 2160 which was a free game from them):

You should also see if you can get it on Amazon digital download. The head of that department posts almost daily on Cheap Ass Gamer: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/member.php?u=324718

Re: Steam keys on other retailers -- usually it's limited to games that are exclusively Steamworks but there are exceptions where Gamer's Gate, GMG, and Amazon will sell the Steam version where other versions exist.

I'm not crazy about AoD but congrats on the milsestone. Remember to label it an action-rpg to boost sales. That would be the next step on the path to AAA glory. Followed by real time clicky combat in AoD 2, etc.

F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5! Also it was fucking hilarious. Just like how VD will forget about us peons now that he's made the big time. He'll be rubbing elbows with Total Biscuit, Angry Joe, and Doritos guy before you can say Cleveland Mark Blakemore.

 Somebody photoshop hipster glasses onto VD's portrait

AoD also requires a proper trailer - a combination of random "hit animations" in combat (but no actual combat system, so buyer wouldn't see it's turn based), one scene 1-2 seconds and screen needs to black out before the next one. Also scenes of enemies dying and pools of blood, then use a female character with very few clothes on (but do not show the actual tits, even though they are in the game). The beginning should have some cool voice saying "The lands of Rome are in peril... are YOU the hero who can change it's fate?" ("change" is a critical word here, AoD is about C&C after all, but the phrase needs to be catchy, so we still pretend like player is the "chosen one"). Of course we cannot forget about quick music. The video ought to end with the title and a background consisting of arena's art and gladiator (dirty of blood) finishing with a sword in both hands another gladiator lying in blood.

Despise Steam, but grats on mo money and such. Look forward to The Final True Thursday, have played the older demos and it slightly warmed my spiteful black heart.

GamersGate is also DRM-free.
