I'd have to agree with the sentiment that The Witcher 3 is a vastly overrated game, especially on a Codex list. If the question was "Is it a 5/5 compared to other AAA games of the moment?" I'd probably answer yes, but when judging it fairly it's just mediocre overall. Great production values and no virtue signalling because Poland, but the moment to moment gameplay is pretty bad, almost every RPG system that interacts with gameplay is a clusterfuck of bad decisions (the inventory, the talent tree, etc etc on and on) and you're mostly just there for landscape porn and actual porn.

That being said, I'm pretty sure I rated it positively. Can't remember if it was a 3/5 or something higher, but when your competition is Pillars of No XP, I guess Witcher looks pretty good. It definitely doesn't deserve to beat out AoD on a Codex list of all things, though.

In the form of Geralt's cock it seems. It's a retarded question seeing AAA popamole in the 1st place. :hero:

Your name is bloodangel with B spellt as l3, you have space marine on your av and "I am fire! I am death!" in your sig. You are a definition of popamole cancer.

What does this has to do with the popamole games? Besides you don't even have a name just some shit half sentence... And no I don't know what time it is. Time to suck Petes'/Tod's cocks?

rpgcodex is officially finished

last person to leave please turn off the lights

You thought Academagia was about grinding, there's no hope for you left at this point.

says the guy who gave fallout 4 a 3 while downvoting almost everything else

Now that explains a lot...

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen the 2016 PC port of a 2013 expansion of a 2012 PS3 game that would have been the Codex's RPG of the Year for 2016 if not for the 2016 English translation of a 2013 Czech mod for a game originally released in 1997! :happytrollboy:

It has to do with you going out of your way trying to be edgy, 2010 acc as well, should have had this shit out of your system in the first 3 months.

2016 top results look eclectic as fuck. Still somewhat atypical when you put the votes back-to-back with previous years' results.

1. Fallout 1.5: Resurrection
2. Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen
3. Dark Souls III
4. Dungeon Rats
5. Steve Jackson's Sorcery!
6. Stardew Valley
7. Grim Dawn
8. Stranger of Sword City
9. Rance VI: The Collapse of Zeth
10. Salt and Sanctuary

11. Princess Maker 2 Refine
12. Tale of Wuxia
13. Xanadu: Next
14. Megadimension Neptunia VII
15. Void Pyramid
16. Darkest Dungeon
17. The Banner Saga 2
18. Avernum II: Crystal Souls
19. God Eater 2
20. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

I'll just assume that Fallout 2 mod winning is uniquely Codexian considering I've maybe seen the damn thing mentioned two times anywhere else.

I'm looking through Witcher 3 votes and as far as I can tell Poles weren't more generous than other nations. Most of those I know gave it a 4, at least 3 Polish users gave it 3, two gave it 2 and one 1.

Grab the Codex by the pussy
I do not know what else to say except I am shocked to see the % of voters that did not enjoy Pillars. How is that so when so many have participated in the Pillars thread with the Deadfire announcement?
It's because all the Poles on here spam vote Twitch3r 5/5.

Has anyone on the Codex ever actually admitted to being French?

I seem to recall one guy speaking about his life in France a year or so ago, but that might be a false memory.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Bubbles In Memoria A Beautifully Desolate Campaign
Okay, how can you masturbate over the dead corpse of Fallout 2 every day and then just not try out Fallout 1.5 Resurrection? Less than 15% of RPG Codex played it. It's a fucking disgrace.

Go download the mod, RPG FRAUDEX.

Codex 2014 PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! This is RPGStoryfagdex, the results aren't that surprising.

I do think that if the scores were not /5 but /10, AoD would've taken the top spot.

Reading the article, for a minute I thought that Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen had won 2016 but it turns out I was right all along about Fallout: Resurrection winning with fewer votes. Though I can at least take solace in DDDA finishing 7th in the overall list and LoG2 finishing 9th. +M

2016 top results look eclectic as fuck. Still somewhat atypical when you put the votes back-to-back with previous years' results.
2016 had only five games played by at least one-fourth of the Codex, just one (!) game played by at least one-third of the Codex, and zero games played at least half of the Codex. For comparison, the numbers for all years are:
Code:
  >=    1/4         1/3         1/2
2012 9 8 4
2013 3 3 1
2014 13 8 3
2015 8 6 4
2016 5 1 0

Only 2013 is similar to 2016 in having few games played by a large proportion of voters. The 5th highest rated game of 2016 using the Bayesian Average is Steve Jackson's Sorcery! despite it receiving just 72 votes, representing less than 9% of voters.

I guess I should finally play Witcher 3 to see what all the fuss is about. Really suprising to me that on the Codex a AAA game wins GOTY.
Never would have thought that my brother-in-law (very casual gamer) and the Codex would have the same favourite game.

A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
There are 210 people who have graded (I assume played) all three: AoD, Underrail and The Witcher.

Amongst those folks, the regular mean grade for AoD is 4.19, 4.17 for Underrail and 4.33 for W3, respectively.

Although it would be more appropriate to speak about medians, since the scale used is ordinal.

So, for AoD and UR, median is 4 and for W3 5.

EDIT: And of course what I said is not true, actually AoD and W3 are equally popular, and UR slightly more liked, check the post later on.

Where expecting basics is considered perfectionism
I wonder how would the results be without potato votes :M

The results are indeed surprising. Legend of Grimrock II is on top 10, Dungeon Rats is ranked higher than Pillars of Eternity and Wasteland 2, Blackguards isn't even on top25 and Paper Sorcerer is above Elminage Gothic.

Age of Incline for RPGs and Age of Decline for Kodex Kritique Konsensus.

PoE is #13 and all Dark Souls games are on top 15 without the downvotes

I am glad Fallout 1.5 has the recognition it deserves.

It made me feel young again. I nearly shat my pants because I was too glued to the computer playing it instead of going to the toilet.
