Do any of you guys remember a bloke called Saint Proverbius? He used to be around here a lot once. He was pretty much the Dictator of the Codex. He banned, dumbfucked and did whatever he wanted to people who pissed him off. The only reason no-one jumped on him like everyone jumps on VD is because you knew Saint wouldn't listen to you. Question him and guess what? You got banned as well.

The Codex has never been a democracy. Nor will it ever be one. It's a site run by a bunch of guys who got together because we wanted somewhere to gripe about the state of RPGs. Somewhere along the way though, we attracted a whole lot of idiots.

These people somehow started to think that the Codex is a "professional" gaming site. We don't make money out of this. We do it only because we enjoy it. We write what we want, when we want to and if that pisses some of you off, none of us could really care less. If you don't enjoy the Codex, we're not making you stay here. So we'll continue to do what we enjoy and if you don't like that, feel free to find somewhere else that'll hold your hand and keep you safe from all those nasty people on the internets.

It seemed like fun. Especially after sheek whinging, convinced that the 50/50 poll result was some kind of ploy. As I've said, I'm a big believer in giving people what they ask for. There also appears to be the need to remind people about how this place works. VD has to put up with a lot of shit and Volourn's been a prick for a long while. If Volourn wants to establish the volourncodex.com and have all his supporters join him so you can all r00fles together, please, feel free to do so.

I care about what we do, not about what you think of it.

Where's that page from Maddox where he replies to all those people who mail him saying "you used to be cool until you criticised XYZ"? If someone knows it, link to it here!

True, but I am pretty much the new guy in charge. You're just going to have to learn to live with that or whinge some more. Either way, it's all entertainment.

Do you have some kinda reading disability? Reread the ban thread. Sheek got exactly what he asked for.

Anywho, I'll be honest. I thought the article was bullshit upon just seeing that Bioware gave the Codex an interview.
Why is that? We did interview Bioware about a year ago.

He's right, imo. Volourn is uneccessarily militant. No one here is as much of an asshole as he. He'll be back nonetheless.

@DU: ok, so why are you trying so hard? you contradict yourself in every post. summing it up:

"Pothead pukeboy run out of material or are you just having an episode of
substance induced stupidity? See...writing is easy, you asshole.
It was all cool till you picked on a paraplegic that has nothing left in
his miserable existence but desperate clinging to a fantasy that he can
help others. All this while he simultaneously fantasizes that his wife is
still faithful...yeah right.
Maybe he actually can help.
You are not funny here.
The real you shows."

Volourn most likely would not got ban if he would not spam for a long time, many people didn't talk nice to VD and weren't banned. Sheek should have dumbfuck did you ever ever his post? I often write some bullshit out of boredom but I can't competitive whit him anyway. Sure the time when that happen is questionable but there is more to it.

I honestly think Volourn has Asbergers or something. I've never seen anyone being so insistant on being a dick for so long. Most of the Bethesda fanboys usually last about a 100 posts at best, but somehow Volourn just keeps on going and going. And not only on this forum obviously. Anyway, taken from the Wikipedia article on Asbergers, I've selected a few things from Social Behavior that seems to fit in quite nicely with Volly:
Making literal interpretation - AS individuals have trouble interpreting colloquialisms, sarcasm, and metaphors.

Being considered disrespectful and rude - Prone to egocentric behavior, individuals with Aspergers miss cues and warning signs that this behavior is inappropriate.

A sense of paranoia - Because of their mindblindness, persons with Aspergers have trouble distinguishing the difference between the deliberate or accidental actions of others, which can in turn lead to a feeling of paranoia.

Managing conflict - Being unable to understand other points of view can lead to inflexibility and an inability to negotiate conflict resolution. Once the conflict is resolved, remorse may not be evident.

Awareness of hurting the feelings of others - A lack of empathy often leads to unintentionally offensive or insensitive behaviors.

Coping with criticism - People with AS are compelled to correct mistakes, even when they are made by someone in a position of authority, such as a teacher. For this reason, they can be unwittingly offensive.
Another very common symptome is a narrow, intense interests of something. I'm not sure if for Volly it's forums or Bioware, but it doesn't really matter I guess. No "normal" person can keep up Volourns level for so long. I just can't believe that.

Wow, that sums him up pretty accurately.

On topic:

"Among those who study ancient ruins, a horrific legend is told: every 50,000 years a race of machines returns to harvest all organic civilizations. Few believe this ancient legend. Commander Shepard, however, knows it to be true. The fight to stop this extinction event has become his most important mission in the galaxy."

As you can see from this snippet, Bioware employs many talented and amazingly creative writers who surprise us all every time yet another storyline is created.

That's what gave the article away for me...comedy gold.

Vol belongs to the Codex inventory, like it or not. It's like The Phantom Menace without Jar-Jar - in retrospect it just wouldn't be the same without.
You're never around to endure his bullshit, so you've got no right to talk.

Besides, under that logic we should return Rex's staff privileges and drag Chris_Beddoes and Constipated Craprunner back from the dead.

Anyway....

A forum I go to now and again (I can't link their unfortunately, its only for people with a subscription or something) a guy who must lurk here (Or go under another name) posted the interview for all to see.

Most of the people bought it, except a couple who wisely made jokes and kept the facade going. Anyway, almost all of them thought this interview sounded awesome, and said how eager they were for the game. When the joke was outed and a normal interview was posted from elsewhere, heaps of them whined and said how they wished the fake interview was true.

Couldn't believe it.

Now I know VD is a marketer
