Yes, Mindslayer on normal difficulty is a beast: once you max frenzied focus you transform into demonic vacuum cleaner also absorbtion tree and telekineticall wielding ftw.

Really cool demake, just killed the Butcher and there was right ballance between challenge and reward (Cleaver, xp) also i was lucky finding tomes of healing.

User interface is done very good: it is comfortable too use various items, controls are very begginer friendly. I would recommend this roguelike to people who want to try something medium in between "coffee break" and "hardcore" roguelike.

How is warrior keeping up later?

I always wish the guy who made DiabloRL worked on it more. As it stands it's pretty incomplete as far as I know, it just ends somewhere. This did make me want to download DoomRL again though.

As for now i am in the catacombs 7, it is more than a half of original game? I have read in chaosforge forums that guys got to hell levels.

How is warrior keeping up later?

Pretty well.The warrior crits often. I priorized vitality followed by strength then some dex. Used +HP and +global resist equipment. Rushed towards skeleton archers and forced 1v1 against tough melee enemies by standing right in front of doorways.

Reached Lvl 11, 4th floor . Lost my character because a LUA error occurred (see spoilers) hitting a damn purple zombie called "madeye the dead". The stack overflow made DiabloRL crash afterwards and had to force close application. Long story short the game deleted my char.

what's the best roguelike to jump int for someone like me who's never played one? (graphics are not an issue)

Based on my experience, ToME4 is most newbie-friendly, also more randomized and much more difficult to win than DCSS.

Back to Crawl.

The Abyss was kinda boring, yeah, so motherfuckers messed with it, and now it's the bloody hardest part of the game. I've cleaned the Tomb, the Slime Pits, got two of the infernal runes, and I still can't keep up in the abyss. My char can't cast regeneration (it's a mummy), but it's at 27 fighting, can cast fire storm and haste easily, fuckloads of dodge and armor (got some good equip. less than 30 AC and less than 35 EV), +9 demon blade and I think 14 long blades skill.

There's constant fighting, with the swarms of enemies keeping your hp down all the time, and when you finally kill them all and try to rest to regain hp, some enemy enters LoS and there you go again fighting shit. A few times I came close to dying, but I'm running out of scrolls/charges of teleportation.

I tried twice already, but gave up after them close calls. Those fucking new enemies are a pain.

It seems they tried to spice things up, but the thing is STILL boring, just stupid hard now.
