It's exciting to watch the game that might fatally harm Bestheda.

Over there.
It is my sincerest hope that every guard in Mournhold greets the player with "Mournhold.... City of light! City of magic!" every time you click on them. No variety. No Blizzard style "click me again until I say something funny". None of that. It needs to be constant, overlapping, and repetitious.

Only then will it be authentic.

Maybe people will realize that players are exactly like NPCs in TES, in that they repeat the same dumb phrases in global chat channels until you want to kill yourself.

I actually watched the entire video and my guess is that will probably do rather well. I don't really see it becoming an epic disaster as say the Star Wars was. Also the choose your own skills not locked to a class is interesting. Almost Asherons Call like which was rather good.

Yeah, to be fair, at this point at least it doesn't give out the epic disaster vibes.

Unless you think of the lore, but if you think of that, then I invite you into the magical world of Warcraft lore retcons.

It doesn't matter if it looks better than Star Wars or whatever other game. The fact is that it won't be as "good" as Warcraft and will therefore just fail spectacularly.

It's true, I remember Age of Conan failure. It was a really good game, but unfortunately not better than WoW back in the days.

It will be a disaster regardless. It always is. The age of classic monthly fee mmos is over. Everyone is sick and tired of them. I don't see how this is going to compete with WoW/GW2- the go to properties for fantasy fags. Worse yet- if rumors are correct the Bilzzard's new mmo IP is not far behind mountains, so this will be a really short lived venture. The best they can hope for is a small dedicated player-base that keeps flowing in the cash- too little to afford any good expansions and content updates, mind you.

I think that era of mmo of any kind is over. Can't imagine sane person who prefers f2p over subscriptions.

The game's graphics are quite good. It's easy to be drawn into the allure of graphics on this one. We assume that because the graphics are good, so must be the gameplay. However, we are about to depart the age of DirectX 9 console graphics. Thus, all new releases will start to be much more appealing to the eye. So I'll wait until more is known about the gameplay. We can only hope that character development is more than a level grind, and that there's a lot of interesting character customization and depth. If it somehow plays like a single player TES game while being MMO, they will have accomplished something. Until we know more, it's just circle jerking to graphics.

After finally watching that video, I think it's same to say that they should have designed it as a single player game. It doesn't necessarily look bad, but the MMORPG shoehorning is sure to ruin any kind of fun.

Prediction: F2P within 6 months.

Yep that will basically kill ALL MMO's for a time. However I still doubt it will be coming out soon.....? As in say this year. Maybe next year?

Well it's still up for debate. There was this old "leaked" Blizzard production timeline with new IP planned for Q4 2014- I'm not sure how precise or authentic it is, though. It doesn't sound too unlikely that they might actually announce it in next year's Blizzcon, which would mean a guaranteed 2014/2015 release.

SAVE THIS CHARACTER? NO.
Codex 2013 Codex 2014 PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Serpent in the Staglands Divinity: Original Sin Torment: Tides of Numenera BattleTech I'm very into cock and ball torture
So... If it's supposed to be 1000 years before Skyrim, shouldn't the orkies be dicking around in the Wrothgarians bothering nobody? There should be Akaviri bones all over Morrowind from Vivec's water-breathing trick, too. (apparently only 11 years beforehand?)

I can see all these interracial marriages with NPCs and players all over the place.

Imagine people PKing each other for rare books with rare and intricate covers to put in their libraries.
This dark horse now interests me a bit more. It is't (exactly) as WoWesque as it could have been (still hope they will tone everything down of course), they do not seem to (yet) focus on EngagingNarrativeTM, knowing it is Elder Scrolls world probably could be changed by players (streets from real player's houses) and there are sieges and such, it will (hopely) have something to do with lore and collecting it, and maybe players will be able to meet TES characters, and, last but no less important, there would be ton of larpers and furfags who'd get married and create threads on official forums with names like "Furry and proud" which will bring new, unseen trolling and lulz. Maybe players will even try to create nude mods for game.
Yeah lot of brackets, I know.
