Why are you bitching about flaming swords in fallout3? They fit in perfectly.
Name me at least one reason why a flaming sword can't have it's place in the futuristic post-nuclear sci-fi setting with laws of physics?!

How the hell do you forge a sword to begin with?!

There was a BIG discussion over at NMA about whether swords should be in or not. And they should not. They are useless too. Who the hell wants a sword. Fucking waste of precious metal if you ask me. Besides, much harder to handle than, say, an axe, for instances.

What I don't understand is why is there a wasteland to begin with if radiation disappears in a matter of seconds in the the Fallout 3 world?

When will you learn to think the Todd way?
Answer is pretty simple

because there was wasteland in F1 and F2.

Why are people still surprised that logic has no home in Fallout 3? I think we can safely assume by now that the game is either designed by idiots, designed for idiots or both. As long as it's flashy, vulgar or both it will sell.

Someone needs to photoshop up an old Interplay logo with the "By Gamers, For Gamers" thing but fitted to Bethesda. :)

Oh, you're right. That's why I love Britney Spears and Three Doors Down :) Eminem rules too.

Actually I thought it was a very good interview. Emil looked tired and sweaty like he had just spoken to a bunch of retards from Gamespy, Game Informer and the rest, so he probably appreciated being asked some more intelligent questions by the guys at Gamereactor.
What intelligent questions are you talking about?

Anyway, good questions would be the kind that makes him sweat in the first place.

I don't get why so many people have a problem with this. The flaming sword is clearly the ultimate weapon that Fallout's resource war was fought over, and the US of A just couldn't let the Chinese get their hands on it, because they're all trained Samurais and Ninjas and would have made flaming katanas, which can cut a US ICBM in half and split its atoms. The atoms stick to the katana and power it up, so every time you swing the sword it makes a mini mushroom cloud.

It's like you guys never studied history, physics or even played the Fallout games. You should be thankful Bethesduh are imparting their wisdom, because knowing is half the battle.

I can certainly see mad max using some kind of flaming melee weapon contraption. so by itself it alright

however, combined with the orcs/knights dynamic that bethesda seems to be headed for with the mutants/BOS, its a bit distasteful

Wouldn't that liquid gasoline leak towards your hands, you know, burning yourself?
That sounds immersion breaking....

Why do they only use the reality argument for point of view?

but it is. Look at all gaming magazines. So many professional people can't be wrong!

Maybe if he was swinging a cudgel that was also incidentally on fire...

This made me think about people scavenging all those "fantasy" swords from the ruins of civillization. Imagine someone coming running at you with "The Sword of Conan", and then having it break when it hits your padded jacket, since it was nevef made for anything but being a wall decoration :)
