Guess what, fuckers? The joke's on you cause they'd rather buy farmer's gold than pay you.
Yea, the gold prices are so ludicrously low that it's just insane to pay ANet real money for pittance ingame.

Only storymode quest I recall having problems on was on my guardian actually. The sylvari racial quest where you have to find the Orrian scrying mirror in the skritt burrows. My condition damage/everything burns build had a hard time handling waves of destroyer crabs and trolls :P

Oh, and the lv 50ish one where you have to free krait prisoners for the pact, since I did that with a lv10 harpoon. :P
Engineers have no use for gear, at all.
They can use 'nades under water as well and it is (was) the most powerful underwater attack in the game.

Maybe the clocktower jumping. Otherwise, fairly standard, maybe a notch better than the average in fact. I mean, give me an example of a good Halloween content, really.

Grats, welcome to the game. Go head to Lion's Arch asap for Halloween event before it's over.

I've been playing GW2 and it's been a total fucking blast for me, it might be a beginner's enthusiasm though but so far I love it. It's been years since a game got me that hooked, but then again, I'm returning to MMOs after thousands of years so it might be full of conventional shit that I've never seen.

The main cities are also absolutely fantastic, I want to see more cities like these in games. Divinity's reach is ridiculously great. Any word on Cantha being developed for this game? Can't even imagine how Kaineng will be.
I just saw Divinity's Reach for the first time too, pretty cool and definitely one of the biggest and most interesting starting areas.

That said, it has the same issue as any MMO - massive, massive worlds with tons and tons of art, NPCs running around etc. but 99% of it has no purpose and is just filler content designed to make you walk far. I wish those areas actually had quests and stuff to do, in order to justify their existence.

The lack of Dynamic Events in DR is probably meant for 'safe area' to do your non-combat stuff.
I recall there's a city that actually had Dynamic events going on like seperatist forces sabotaging the shophouses and recruiters you gotta take down.

That said, PVE is lackluster, World vs lacks good rate of reward vs gold spent.
If this has subs, I'd drop it straight away.

Problem is you have a massive city with 20 identical copy-pasted merchants, 20 banks, 20 traders, etc. and meanwhile you consistently have less than 50 players occupying the entire space at once. It's all pretty much completely redundant, except for the occasional special NPC that might sell some specific crafting goods or whatever, which means that while it can be fun to look around the cities, there's absolutely no gameplay reason for most of it to exist. It's like they design MMOs to have tens of thousands online in the same game world at once but then servers mean you only have a thousand instead. It's just disappointing when you realize there is absolutely nothing of interest to do at all in such huge places.

Granted this is the same problem many MMOs have, it just feels like the massive world comes first, actual gameplay comes in a very distant second. Bigger doesn't mean better or more fun. It's simply another way to encourage/force you to spend more time in the hopes you will spend more money in the cash shop.

Ok, head to Lion Arch during Halloweeen.
It's a lag fest.
I hate that shit.
I really really hate it so much.
Why did they make it the Halloween Hub?

one of my ram chips just died. down to 3gb ram.
Fuck.

The reason why the whole 'capital city deserted' feel is due to Lion's Arch being the real 'hub' with portals heading to every race capital.

Also, Guildmate crafted legendary, a shortbow.

my reaction is this:
:what:

Yes big empty cities full of nothing but NPC's saying the same stupid shit over and over without any quests other then stupid jump and run 'puzzles' are incline. May as well look at some 3d max city rendering.

Hate to piss on your party but the game is shit. Worst 60 bucks ive spent yet

LOL SOUNDS LIKE DALARAN SYNDROME ALL OVER AGAIN. Although they could've done a bit more with the cities, or at least made LA less of a hub. A global city chat would immediately solve this, actually, and I'm shocked they didn't take this very simple lesson of Vanilla WoW to their designs.

On an unrelated topic, finally completed Mad King Clocktower puzzle, fuck, that was a piece of work. Fortunately I got off the overflow server at some point... Only to find myself on the "correct" server with 1 other person in the zone? What the heck, why is there an overflow? I guess it's connected to some more subzones but that'd be nice to know. Anyway, that pretty much removed the whole "Wait half a minute til some crafty asshole falls off the last rail" bit, and I got it fairly soon. Well, like in an hour. OCD at its finest.

Overall, I rather liked the event, but it had some flow/portioning issues. The beginning had too little to do, Part 3 was too short, ending was a little too mild (what, a hat, really? And why didn't the Mad King throw a ton of puns into the Mad King Says?) - overall, a very uneven experience, despite parts of it being pretty sound. I mean, how many other MMOs roll out two new PvP modes just for a week? Probably not that many. Would really like to see them added to the regular game mode list though - maybe as a separate rotation, but it was quite fun in the Peasants VS Advisors thing once I got the idea. Pumpkin MOBA was kinda a-okay too, but would require way more work.

Lol...my group dropped their dungeon runs and WvW nights for Mad King farm runs.
Quite crazy really. I got sucked into it but never got anything nice except for exotic spear and trident for my Guardian.

:( 20 G ($10) for Mad Moon shield skin....duuuurghhh..
Oh well, back to dungeon runs. I'm gonna start getting my tanking set to spice things up.

I got 3 exotics, and forgot to do the farm runs on the final day, so missed out on stuff. Plus about ten dyes. Not too much, but pretty decent for the low time investment. Magic Find gear can be useful.

I tried hammer guardian. What a boring and effective way to dungeon.
Honestly, screw Greatswords. Tried both in CM...my god. The difference that a 5 second recharge Blast combo finisher it makes...
I was downed a few times when running with greatsword - but with hammers, I just walk up to the mob, swing 3 times, and smash for area retaliation - which triggered Altruistic healing that heals me up good. Not to mention any critical strikes gives Might (Trait), Vigor (Trait), and 140 worth of heal (Trait). 6 x Sup. Rune of Soldiers for condition clearance when shout solved all condition problems.

I'm just gonna run a mesmer on World v World from now on. Less passive game play and more creative ways to mindfuck people at lvl 30. Portal isn't overpowered my ass. Even on 1 v 1 portal is a bitch when fighting at cliffsides.

Almost level 40 now. The enemy respawns in this game are fucking annoying, and even more annoying when combined with the increased enemy density and less open space to move in some of the higher-level areas. It literally means that you can barely reach certain areas, skill challenges, etc. because the enemies you just killed 5 seconds ago respawn before your cooldowns have even reset.

Sometimes it gets so bad that you can't even traverse an area without wasting 10 minutes killing the same mobs over and over, advancing 20 feet at a time because the old ones spawn back. And god forbid the map isn't clear and you can't figure out exactly where to go, because then you'll have wasted your 10 minutes as you have to circle around to the right spot to complete the challenge/quest/etc. killing the exact same enemies yet again.

Combine that with the fact that I am playing a summon-oriented necromancer, whose pets constantly attack any nearby enemies even without my commanding them to (or maybe the enemies attack them, whatever) and it just gets fucking tedious after a while.

What areas are those? I've had very little trouble with that personally, except for the Norn spots with caves, now that was a painful experience indeed.
