Yes it is. Also it sometimes reacts to the person initiating dialogue. In one encounter, if you have a Monk approach a person you get something different than approaching it with another class.

Icewind Dale was fun for that. Another recent game I remember doing it is Mysteries of Westgate where I found that your main character's race sometimes opened new conversation options instead of skill checks. It was often unexpected and welcome.

Started up a game of Icewind Dale II. Within the first hour my paladin refused a reward because she said it's against her order to gain monetary wealth and people stated commenting on the fact I had a Drow elf in my party. Seems far more reactive to the kinds of people you have in your party than the other IE games.

Yeah that bit reminds me a lot of tabletop actually. "Don't let the paladin talk!" *group makes some pretense to get the paladin out of the room before negotiating/interrogating/whatever*

2Hand Bastard Sword? WTF does that mean? The very name of bastard mean it's one and a half, meaning you can wield it with both hand if needed since the length support that but it's not as long as a 2hand sword... Geekiness overloaded?

2Hand Bastard Sword?

Not sure if this is what the mod is getting at but in 3E bastard swords take an exotic weapon feat to wield one handed. If you poke around the player's handbook (as I recall), there was a rule about using them just with martial weapon proficiency if you two handed them... but then you're better off using a greatsword. Either way, even if you wanted the flexibility by having exotic weapon prof. already any weapon that you use 1 handed just gets your strength bonus to damage whereas 2 handing a weapon gives you 1.5x strength bonus to damage.

Many dwarfs are also awed and shocked to see a svirfneblin, saying they always wanted to see one.

Your svirfneblin character has also boilerplated a response to them: "Yes, yes, a couple of goblins painted me on my way here, can you please answer my questions?"

Happens in the Targos Palisade and then later Kuldahar and I think once in the Underdark.

Obviously no one is using bastard swords two-handed so that they can have 1d10 instead of a greatsword's 2d6. It's so that unique bastard swords with no parallel in greatswords can be wielded two-handed.

Hope your Cleric is a Dreadmaster of Bane :smug:

You know how there are daggers that can be switched between throwing and melee mode? This lets you switch bastard swords between one-handed and two-handed modes.

That Jungle level was fucking random. I hated it.
However, it was anyway a nice detour from mainstream Forgotten Realms areas that are done to death. Do you know an another CRPG that has locations in the Jungles of Chult? I don't.

EDIT: I myself was very pleasantly surprised while playing IWD2 when I saw it brought me to the Jungles of Chult. I have seen that area in a Forgotten Realms map, and thought, "huh, it would be pretty cool to play an adventure THERE", and IWD2 brought me there on a surprise trip. Hooray!

Well, I wanted snowy landscapes and the game threw me in a jungle. Dunno, it just didn't feel right for me.

Argueably not a cRPG, but IIRC you visited Chult in Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, which I must admit I enjoyed.

Yeah what can I say in my defense, it was nice hacking and slacking some Forgotten Realms creatures with a bro.

NWN1 is way too ugly and clunky for my tastes.

BG:DA actually still looks pretty good even for todays standards:

An excerpt from that
"This sword was ordinarily used with one hand, but the grip was long enough to allow it to be grasped with two to three fingers of
the left hand if it was desired to give extra weight to the blow."
Use it twohandedly in a permanent fashion is stupid.
