It's sort of a spiritual successor to Bard's Tale... though I've never played so I can't comment on its quality.

Humble Indie Bundle 7 and HIB7 'Beat the average' added to Steam registry. Expect it in a couple of days. Friend of mine said something like pirates found a Legend of Grimrock torrent on Humble's site but that could be because it is sold via the Humble Store on Grimrock's website. Otherwise that would be a nice kick in the ass to everyone who bought it a week ago.

Yeah. I bought Grimrock from the Humble Store, and torrenting is one of the options so it's probably just that. Even if it isn't I won't feel that bad about spending $12 on Grimrock 'cause fuck it I'm loving the piss out of it.

Looks like a new Indie Royale should probably be showing up any time now, too.

bros I hear unstoppable gorg's only good point is the retro shtick so have a care

as for tobe's vertical adventure

Tobe's Vertical Adventure is an indie, retro, platformer starring Tobe, the overly devoted gamer who's been forced on a treasure hunt by his materialistic crush, Nana. The big head duo will travel back and forth in the crumbling caves in search of treasures while rescuing fluffy animals, making you scream kawaii ne~ along the way.

oh fuck no

I'm somewhat interested in Depths of Peril, on the fence on Gorg... rest look like crap. I really hate how they keep shoving these bullet shooters down our throats. For $5, I'm sure I can get Depths/Gorg later if I really want. I'll wait and see what Humble has to offer.

Eh. I've already got Depths of Peril, but I might go for it for Gorg. I kinda wanted that. And that platformer's description is horrifying but the video for it looks alright, plus then I can scream kawaii ne~ like I've always wanted.

Comrade Metro, if you decide to skip the bundle shoot me a PM and I'll give you my Depths of Peril key.

Yeah I'll have to take you up on that. In keeping with the Gorg theme, Wander McMooch strikes again!

Dance your cares away,

Let the music play,

This should come as no surprise, but I checked out Tobe and it was really quite shit. Controls like ass, you really want a degree of precision for a platformer and Tobe doesn't have that at all. There's also the LOL YOU PLAY A HIP GAMER KAWAII NE~ aspect which asses it up even more. Spent 12 minutes looking at it and I'm not sure I'll spend any more.

Basically just spent $5 for Gorg I guess, which since I'm such a sucker for tower defense I'm not too bothered by. It was on sale a while back on Steam and I was tempted then and resisted. My wait probably saved me all of 30 cents and got Metro DoP, but what the hell.

Gorg has a demo on Steam, tried it some time ago. I'm a great tower defense lover, but I really didn't like Gorg mechanics.
Said that, the whole theme is done hilariously well.

I tried the demo, too, like the theme but the mechanics didn't amaze me. That said someone on the Cheap Ass Gamer board gave me a key for free so... yay me. Tried Depths of Peril for a couple hours tonight. The concept is okay but... I don't think the faction-on-faction warfare lends itself too well to the ARPG genre. Definitely experiencing bundle saturation. The last few Humble ones have been shit (especially the Android ones), Indie Gala has never been that good but the Meridian4 filled one was terrible. Royale has always been mediocre in my opinion. I've never seen one that had more than two games tops appeal to me and there's so much overlap these days I've been fortunate enough to be gifted keys to the three or four games that have interested me... even then I don't spend a lot of time playing them. Think I played Nuclear Dawn a grand total of 20ish minutes.

Even in general my gaming wishlist is pretty small. The only 'big ticket' titles I'll eventually grab at $20ish are Skyrim, Risen 2, Witcher 2, and Amalur. Next tier is stuff like Rage and SS3 and Portal 2 around $7-$10ish. After that it's like a dozen indie games all $10 or less that I'm just waiting to be in a bundle or 75% off sale.

And the Humble Bundle just went live... it's a preorder of Botanicula that comes with Machinarium and Samorost 2. If you beat the current ~$9ish average you get Windowsil and some movie named Kooky. Moreover you need to pay at least $5 to get a Steam key. Yeah... easily their worst bundle yet.

I think I've picked up every single bundle thus far. This one is complete shit, even I'm passing.

What a disappointment, fuck. I was gonna throw a buck at it for Botanicula and if any extras get added, when I saw "Warning! Please note that orders under $5.00 are not eligible to redeem Steam keys. If you are planning on adding your Humble Bundle games to your Steam library, please increase your order amount." the shit. Wasn't it $1 minimum for Steam games last time? HUMBLE BUNDLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Really, if you check out their history I'd say at least half (if not more) of their 'bundles' have been pretty mediocre to utter crap. A lot of 'one developer only' lots, rehashes, etc. I mean, Jesus, are they now the official publisher of Amanita Design? Did they really need to dedicate a whole bundle to a Botanicula preorder? From the shitty Android bundles to the Mojam, etc. they're getting worse than Indie Gala.

My luck continues. I thanked the dude that gave me a Gorg key by giving him a Humble Bunde #3 key and then he gave me a Sol Survivor key -- only game I didn't own from the Groupees Bundle. I definitely think the Bundle Era is coming to an end. Too much overlap. Too many spare keys floating around out there.
