Kinda retarded to argue which trails game is the best / worst all of em are fine. I personally though CS2 was the worst trails game till I played Hajimari. If you finished sky 1-3 you should not have a problem playing crossbell games. I really don't see a reason not to play em if you have the option to do so I prefer em over any CS game.

If you finish zero and don't want to wait for azure geofront translation is great

but agreed anyway with skip crossbell games if you dont feel like playing em they are long games. for me the story / worldbuilding are the main things going for trails and skipping games can kinda ruin that

Sky 2 and Cold Steel 2 have been my favorites, so far.

I have no problem with how the Crossbell games look. I'm not playing this series for its visual fidelity.

I have recently finished Zero; thought it was well paced and definitely doesn't overstay it's welcome like Cold Steel 2, also doesn't end on a cliffhanger either. Lloyd as a character is pretty bland, but in terms of story / exposition development on stuff that was mysteriously covered in the Sky games and general lore of the overarching games, it is pretty great. Also the game takes a complete 90 degree turn in the last 1/4 that most people don't see coming.

To me, Rean became compelling to watch due to the predicament he gets placed in as the Cold Steel story went on, similar to how Haku from Utawarerumono isn't very distinct but you really wanted to see how he got out the situation he got stuck in at the end of the first game. Lloyd didn't have any such thing going for him and was simply boring. Estelle was an entertaining character but not compelling. Kevin was theoretically interesting being a Church assassin but then his game never explored that part.
