Todd is a master businessman.

Step 1: develop a game for Xbox fast
Step 2: ship a great toolset
Step 3: chill like a boss
Step 4: fans fix the game and make mods
Step 5: reap goty rewards
Step 6: repeat

I hope that all or at least one of these turns out good: Colony Ship, Everspace 2, Trepang2 and Tempest Rising. I'm neutral on BG3 and Rogue Trader, if they are good all the better, if not who cares.

Strap Yourselves In
Cleve is working on a couple blobbers, but none of them are Grimoire 2. One is in a Lovecraftian setting and one post-apocalyptic.

Good lord, this looks terrible. Like someone decided to make an entire game about level 1 pillardancing from a roguelike.
This was the entirety of Legend of Grimrock, and people claim that is a good game too.
Legend of Grimrock was good. Especially its sequel.
The thing is: it was good DESPISE its combat system rather than because of it, so it's weird to see so many devs attempting to copy that.

The two Legend of Grimrock games have the same basic combat system as Dungeon Master, which is also true of nearly every game in this particular subgenre (real-time blobbers a.k.a. Dungeon Master-likes). :M

This probably plays well for codex audience a strong GOTY contender

Other than that Call of Saregnar, Colony Ship, Legends of Amberland, Monomyth, Skald and Underrail are probably great going to be a good year
