I don't care who agrees or disagrees with me. The point of my post was to tell you why I, a HUGE Doom fan from many years back, will not be supporting the new game.
Granted, I don't know how much story is in it, nor do I really are. That was not my main point, and I made it clear I was just going by what I SAW, not what I PLAYED.
What I SAW, after several hours of research, was not something I particularly liked, at all.
I feel that this is going to be a very forgettable game in the long run. Not an all-time classic like the originals.
I gave you reasons why. Level design is far superior in the original games and much more memorable. Enemies didn't just magically appear out of thin air in a locked room where you had to just mindlessly kill wave after wave of them. That is not Doom to me.
Doom, you press a switch in some dark, shady corridor, and, Oh, shit! A wall opens on each side of you with a loud noise and 2 cacodemons are in the wall, right in your face! Usually by this time I've already messed in my pants when I pressed the switch and the loud "VRRRRHHHH" noise happened and the walls flung open.
If you like what they did with the new Doom, great, good for you. Enjoy. I will just play the originals on Hurt Me Plenty and above and have fun with them instead of the new game.
Which again, should be called Hellspawn: Demonslayer. Not Doom.
