We are so back.

OK sure, they haven't been able to match the quality of New Vegas in the 8 or so attempts they've made since then, but maybe this time will be different.Obsidian has been publishing shit since Pillows. The nuObsidian with diversity hires and faggots is a sad incompetent and lazy simulacrum of the original team, wearing its name like a skinsuit.
I don't think Outer Worlds was a horrible game per-se. There were some memorable moments, some good quests and plots, the shooting was okay at times, the exploration mattered sometimes, and heck there even were some love-letters to initial Fallouts to encounter, too.I mean, the trailer is kind of cool, same vibe as the 2021 trailer, taking the piss abit out of itself and the industry etc.
Is the game gonna be good? I mean if they improve on virtually every pat of the first game, it might be. TOW 1 was aggressive mediocre in large parts, and suffered from lack of money and time to develop it further.
If TOW2 has this, then the game might actually be fleshed out and good.
Obviously if you dislike the artstyle, and general vibe of the world, aint nothing gonna save it for you, but for me, I generally was fine with the universe and worldbuilding, it just needed alot more time to cook.
The little jab at fallout 3 part 2 (new vegas) in the trailer, makes me think the team is hyper aware of the fact, that people actually wanted TOW 1 to be New Vegas 2 in space, but didn't get it.
This time around, we might actually get just that? The trailer certaintly doesn't discourage me from that opinion at the time of writing.
we'll see come 2025.
Very very causiously optimistic (who we kiddin dis gon b GUD)
Dude, this is what I meant, we're talking about a different game. You've so far stated that you don't like TOW's mechanics and level design, its tone and writing, and implicitly its art direction (since it's part of that "lighthearted comic relief" style), what's left? You don't want another TOW, you want a completely different FPS/RPG, one that's... good. So would I, but it ain't happening here.I would really like TOW2 establishes interesting lore, serious story and horror thematic. This lighthearted comic relieves don't work, at least for me.
I won't judge the game by the trailer. Wait and see.Dude, this is what I meant, we're talking about a different game. You truly are an optimist, can't argue with that.I won't judge the game by the trailer. Wait and see.
He crossed the line into delusional. Granted there is a fine line between optimism and delusionYou truly are an optimist, can't argue with that.I won't judge the game by the trailer. Wait and see.
I did like the shroud as a disguise mechanic. The Outer World was great, until 6 hours in I realized I didn't care about the world, the characters, any of my party members, and especially the main quest.
Ran flawlessly though, no bugs except one building that I could get in that didn't have an interior, so I got trapped there forever.
?/10 maybe I don't know. I don't remember anything about it.
You piqued my interest Mr. Pickle.I wrote a quest for Outer Worlds 2, hope they include it in the game. Here's a sneak preview:

Your companion, Rick, finds himself in quite the pickle...
Rick: Hey! %PC! Come over here!
%PC: Where are you?
Rick: Down, dumbsh!t! Look Down!
You look down at the table and see a talking pickle
Rick: See? The fricking CORPORATION turned me into a pickle! I'm Pickle Rick!!!
%PC laughtrack plays
Dialogue options:
1) Why are you a pickle? (Serious)
2) *Stomach Gurgle* I'm getting hungry (Funny)
Player picks 1 or 2, regardless of which the same dialogue follows:

********crew applauds*********
Rick: That's fr!cking Right, %PC, I'm Pickle RICK!
Molyneux was just a name after Fable. Putting it in any sentence not followed by con, scam, swindle or any related term makes it feel like out of context.Outer Worlds was a wierd one. A lot of talent involved. The first hour or so is great, and then it's the first hour endlessly repeated. Not the Tim Cain comeback I was expecting, still better then Richard Garriot or Peter Molyneux's attempts. Such a shame.

Fun (depressing) fact: Most people who use the name Peter Molyneux as a marketing ploy only know him from Fable. They never played a Populous game in their lives.
If it were presented like that; a FPS with lightweight RPG elements and some questing, *somewhat* inspired by Fallout, it may have been a different tale to tell.
But there were broken promises, posings for something and baiting people into buying your product that was way less/different than what you have advertised, false and abusive exploitations of renown terms, etc.
That's what made it a bad product.
