Nobody reacts to having a gun pointed at their head.
Not only that but it also makes you feel like your character is some kind of a robot, I mean, who walks like that!? Unless of course it's a dude from an FPS of the 90's. Ugh, at least add the animation to lower the gun when the PC talks to someone. This is definitely not the only game that does that, but it seems very little people pay attention to how awkward it looks. At least games like CP2077 seem to have put some thought into FP animations.
Well, CDP has always pushed the RPG genre forward with stuff that matters. Should we be surprised?
I do remember that in Fallout 1 you had to holster your gun in some place or people would actually start shooting at you. Surely something simmilar happens in the harsh world of CP2077? Or...?

Hammer & Sickle, the main town, if you let weapons out the cops will imprison you (and take all your stuffs). To carry weapons unnoticed you have to carry cutdown rifle/pistol in your hidden hands (or put it inventory). Rifle is long so even if you put it inventory the game still show you have a bar on your shoulder.

It's a shame they went the humor route.
An intra-corp war in the vein of the syndicate in space would've been something.

Its not like they'll try to crack jokes left & right, its more of an undertone thing, like in...fallout :D

Guess the trailer mislead many to think its gonna be like OWB's beginning, whole game. It becomes clear that it won't be like that from the gameplay vid.

It is a shame. I assume they are trying to appeal to the Borderlands/Nu-Fallout "lolrandom" crowd.

I am so tired of that shtick, making it serious would be better, but then there is the danger of getting into POE "I am so serious" territory.

Well, we don't know yet just how humorous the game will be in the end. Might be the trailer highlights the funny parts in a way that isn't reflected throughout the whole game.
Also how can you be that tired of this shtick? It's not as if funny or grotesque tones dominate the gaming industry, right? Especially the RPG or shooter sector.
It's not terribly innovative, but it's not as if there's an overflow of such games right now.

If humor is littered all around your game and it sucks, then your game became more painful to get through.

Example: Divinity: Original Sin

the 15 mins gameplay give me less impression of the humority schtick. the trailers seems to be so, but it's not like borderlands where every line is a joke. the direction seems to be more of a fallout 2.

P Torment : 30h
PoE : 40h
BG II : 60-70h
FNV : 30h (40-45h if really you want to do a good ladle of side quests )
Fallout 1 : 15-20h

Let me guess, youre one of those guys who spam the skip button on every dialogue as fast as possible?

It is the average playing time of the players who have finished these games.
xoxo.
PS: But Yes I know, you're a splendid snowflake who spent 120 h in Fallout 1...

No essential NPCs confirmed? fucking incline boys

In fairness, NPCs are usually tagged as Essential to prevent the player from missing out on epic questlines or engaging, well-written characters. Since Obsidian games typically have neither, such features are unnecessary.

Where did you look those up? On howlongtobeat.com you get way higher numbers, even if you look at the playtimes for only beating the main questline.

Guess you didn't check out Fallout 2's sense of humor then.
Remember when Fallout purists claimed 2 was a travesty inflicted upon Cain's original vision (this was back when a bunch of people thought he was more highbrow than he is).

It was goofy but not out of the whack crazy goofy. Worked alright for universe. There were a lot of allusions and reference from movies. Worst offenders - doctor who booth and whale, and maybe dinosaur foot-mark.

Btw. this is the sidequest I was talking about:
How much of this is Gonzalez though? He was the narrative director yes, but he wasn't the project director nor necessarily responsible for sidequest writing. The team had people like https://twitter.com/betterthemask and https://twitter.com/kyotocosmology
Exactly that. There are lots of problems with the quest and the whole game in general in terms of pure narrative design principles (and what was his role if not that). No agency, pre-defined personality with Fallout 4 dialog options, too often the game tells you how you HAVE to feel about certain situations.

And those go through the entire game. In fairness, as I mentioned, that is the worst it gets and its usually in tolerable/eyebrow raising levels but it is visible throughout the game.

And again, apart from that quest I liked it enough to platinum. It's decently executed. Just not exactly Fallout: New Vegas or Obsidian/Troika vibes there.
