Being related to Fallout 4 is a master marketing move. Fallout 4 has sold insane amounts of copies.... And there are a ton of youtube videos about it with millions of views... All of those people are going to get interested about it.

And all of those people will be pissed about 76.

Yeah, for once I'd say Obsidian got their marketing exactly right.

Now the only thing that could go wrong is gameplay. And the story. Or the writing in general. Maybe an insane amount of bugs.

I'm sure they'll manage.

Are any of the leads from New Vegas still at Obsidian? And/or working on this game? Or is it an all-new team or whatever.

It doesn't really matter IMO. They know what made New Vegas great and will repeat some of it here. But Tim and Leonard will make sure it has enough Bloodlines in it too, and reactivity that we didn't even see from New Vegas. Watch and see.

Have to say, the timing for The Outer Worlds couldn't be better, at least for the announcement. There haven't been really any good first-person action rpgs for a good while, Bethesda has lost a lot of goodwill from the potential customers, and even though I'm suspicious of the current writing staff in Obsidian, at least TOW looks (much) more fun than Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2. Also, it seems to be light-hearted and at least try to be fun and adventurous, which I think people are really graving nowadays. One type of game I'd love to play, written by very competent writers, would be The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. crpg...of course, with Bruce Campbell in the very prominent VA-role.
There are Kingdom Come Deliverance and Deus Ex Mankind Divided and partially Prey and that's about it, yeah.

Kingdom Come I forgot, but are those other two rpgs? I thought they're just action action.

Deus Ex is an RPG that features stealth and action. Prey is more of a System Shocky 2-esque game so it depends on how you classify that, but it is not a straight shooter.

Charles Staples was Lead Area Designer on FNV. He is working on this game.
Scott Everts was Lead World Building, also working on this.
Brian Menze was the Concept Artist for FNV, also working on the game.

Does it even have a hundred people? Flou's list had ~60, and many have left Obsidian. Anyway, with Obsidian's current talent, it was natural to hope that they'd be more involved in the trenches (as they used to be). However, the weakest aspects will most certainly be writing and combat, and there isn't much they could do to improve them directly.

My list is far from complete. Too many devs don't update their LinkedIn and the staff photo from 2017 is kinda useless at this point when people are shifted from one project to an another.

I would put the work force around 60-100 people (not full time though, some of the workforce have moved on to other projects and some work on all projects). Deadfire support team and DLC team have decent amount of people. The 3rd game requires some staff members as well.

No need to act modest. Just be careful you don't get this account mass-reported and shut down

Tim Cain has been known to read the codex from time to time, so he might actually see this. And I agree. Would hug papa Cain.
Who wouldn't really. After Fallout and Arcanum, it's like I've been friends with him for decades.

Fallout 4 has sold insane amounts of copies
Around 40 million, to be a little more precise.

Fallout 4 visuals are fine
Citation please. Flat and not properly shadowed city are fine? The overexposed southern part of the map are fine? Glowing puke is fine? Fallout 4 looks like shit but different kind of, much meaner, seeing The Outer Worlds adapting similar techniques actively hurts the game.

Or you could play the game. It's a piece of shit but the visuals are fine.

I dont remember anything great about area design in FNV, world building or anything else for that matter. I remember retarded set up for the plot and patented Obsidian blandness. So, yeah, nothing to get excited about.

Tim Cain is without a doubt the most adorable looking man in the gaming industry. Look at that big teddy bear. I bet when he cries it would break your heart to see and when he's happy it makes the whole block rock with joy.

And I'm man enough to admit I'd hug 'em. C'MERE TIM. LEMME HUG YA. He can't see this.

And then he puts his cock in you.

Based on the reddit, you don't have to hold your gun while walking around.

It was obvious from the trailer: he lowered his gun after he shoot that robot.

I did not say anything because it's fun to watch retards bitching about unrelated bullshit.

I just rewatched and noticed there's 0 recoil on that gun at 0:53.

Man, for some reason I am not that excited for this game. Watched some gameplay and combat looks pretty boring, which is probably ok since most of Obsidian's better games have terrible gameplays so hope that's the reason.

Kinda looking forward to see the dialogues and how it changes, if its like in the old Fallouts where you go full dumb unique experience or just a few dumb conversations like in FNV.
