I’d say more than anything, the big problem is how weak the antagonist, i.e. The Board, is. They’re both extremely incompetent and lolrandumb evildoers. It’s totally fine to make a completely morally black villain, but then they need to be entertaining or engaging and the Board is just fucking boring.

Caesar’s Legion is pretty much pure evil, but Caesar himself is at least interesting enough that you want to know more about what his deal is, and the Legionaries are very competent especially compared to the decadent and corrupt NCR which is riddled with in-fighting.

Which is why you regulate capitalism without going full socialist retard. :salute:
There's literally no sign of things heading that way anytime soon. Back in the 20th century, even after the implementation of social democratic policies post-WW2, the neoliberals undid it all in the 70s/80s. Capitalism is a monster that refuses to be held down by regulation. It's taken the Earth's environment to the brink of disaster in just 200 years, and if we don't get rid of it as fast as possible then it'll take us down with it.

Yeah, my first playthrough was a ruthless mercenary who sided with them and there wasn't much to it. I'd guess they assumed the vast majority would side against them and didn't devote proper resources. There were a few good routes they could've gone down, included one they hinted at with the doctor being insane and cutting loose a percentage of colonists to save the rest, but in the end the board ending says "lol they were pure evil suck it."

Lots of previously unseen early build footage in the Noclip video.

Tim says Terra 2 was originally going to be a Monarch-sized open world.

They used Scylla as a dumping ground for all the quests that were in areas that got cut, lol.

Here is the proof that you shouldn't touch Obsidian games with a ten-foot pole:

P1. cRPGs are art.

P2. Art is influenced by the morals and habits of our times.

P3. Current morals and habits are degenerate.

C1. Ergo, current cRPGs are degenerate.

C2. Therefore, current cRPGs can only be enjoyed by degenerate individuals. QED

Leonard says they may have done one cut too many. The last round of cuts was "painful". He seems to imply it had something to do with companions and companion reactivity.

Tim, on the other hand, is totally happy with the final game.

It's not capitalism bad, it's big monopoly company bad.

"Mom and pop store on main street, every man can be successful if he tries hard enough" capitalism is awesome. "Globalist mega-corporations that control everything and everyone's a worker" capitalism sucks ass. That's what both the Left and the Right seem to be slowly realizing in real life, and more where Outer Worlds is coming from. See also: Shadowrun.
Free market, private property rights, and personal responsibility are awesome.
Words like "Capitalism" and "capitalist" are used mostly by left-leaning speakers in a pejorative sense. They have one thing in common - they don't seem to like personal responsibility all that much, and want access to other people's property without said people's consent, usually under a benign pretense - the interests of "the people", "the nation", whatever.

Learn about the difference between personal property and private property, fool. Nobody can take away your toothbrush under communism.

There is no Caesar in The Outer Worlds - no real villainous figurehead. You see those posters of Chairman Rockwell here and there, but nobody seems to give a fuck about him. In a game inspired by the movie Brazil - a satirical take on 1984 with no Big Brother - that may be intentional.

This is also why people shouldn't be taking the game's politics very seriously.

Not sure what you mean. Leonard's description of the game in the OP article there turned out to be entirely true. Hannah Kennedy is a whiny concept artist.

Leonard likes darker and serious stories and Tim likes lighter and funnier ones correct? No surprise Leonard is disappointed while Tim is content. TOW is not quite Borderlands tier “lolsorandumb” but it’s way less serious than New Vegas. I never felt any sort of real tension or pressure to continue on with the story.
Not sure why would you consider Caesar's Legion to be evil.

The only reason they may be seen that way is probably because the faction didn't get enough content. You hear the horror stories from NCR soldiers practically the whole game and by the time most players got to the Legion territory they already have an established opinion.

But if you pay attention the game also shows the good sides of Legion and corruption of the NCR leadership. Most gamers just had to have a villain in the story, when there isn't any.
Ah yes the faction where a little girl who is a child slave in their main camp asks you to get her teddy bear back after a Legion soldier confiscated it and gave it to his dog to use as a chew toy. Yeah they’re definitely not the “evil” faction, very morally ambiguous, especially with the fucking red skies and crucified people crying out in agony as you walk to Caesar’s tent.

For those who don't know, "personal property" is an invention of communist regimes' "legal minds", because "private property" was deemed to sound too "capitalist".

Yes they can, and they would if they saw value in your toothbrush. They certainly were ready to take your "personal" automobile. Every car in communist states was recorded in a register, and could be requisitioned in an emergency or war situation.

Nano , here is a question for you, wiseass - if the local communist feudal lord takes away your toothbrush, your "personal property", where would you persecute him for the crime? In the independent communist court?
