I dont think dead people have an opinion on being fertilizer, once the coffin decomposes they are fertilizer regardless, seems in a post apocalyptic scenario you would want to use all the tools at your disposal to survive

I honestly think the game has way too much dialogue, I'd rather just run around and kill shit and find unique shit like it was new vegas or oblivion, there is almost nothing cool to find in this game that you will care about in any way

you can buy the best power armor in a vending machine and it doesnt seem to matter much when 18 manticores are spamming shit at you, overall I'm not impressed and could give less then a fuck

enemy ai is braindead and you can sprint straight at them in an open field and they wont notice you until you touch them

bulletsponge enemies generally make the gunplay unsatisfying, I guess I'll just go play battlefield V or siralim 3 some more

also the map is so full of clutter and shit it's generally not fun to run around on

Lol yup. Quoting for posterity before he edits it.

Man the moral choices this faces you with. Should I side with the sweet granny who's in charge of an autonomous collective of free workers all of whom love her, or the corporate brainwashy bureaucrat who wants to starve them into submission? Tough one.

:hero:

Baited by a fake-paragon choice by some californian valley-girl writers.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Pathfinder: Wrath
Yesterday I finished the quest for Edgewater and honestly I started to like the game once I got to the deserters. I really thought the conflict between them was well written, it reminds me of the conflict between Vault City and Gecko.
Also, now that I'm used to it I really think the gunplay is decent, came across a Primal nest and I had more fun in the than any 3D Fallout encounter -yeah not a high bar- but I'm liking it and I think that's enough.
Overall, I think the hub structure is pretty good, it reminds me of Fallout but I think there wasn't much content. I wish Muradoes had some quests since dealing with them felt filler-y and also some of the quests could've used more branching. So yeah, aside from the main quest of Edgewater which I think was pretty good, nothing else was as interesting.
I wonder if you had a high enough engineering skills would you be able to get the generator without any of this? I think it will be interesting. Powerplant wasn't too challenging but I think its design was fine, you get to use some skills and also I was able to sneak all the way from the electric field until I turned off all the switches and then decided to kill them all.
Speaking of skill, for now, I think the game is really too generous with the skill checks threshold, there are skill which I never put any points in and was still able to pass their check either because it was too low or my companion boosted it a lot. You are really a jack of all trades in early game especially that every point you put pre-50 will boost 3 skills together.
The fact that there are couple of destinations that you can travel to right away after taking off from Edgewater is encouraging. Finally, I thought Parvati, Vicar, and Adeline are decent characters and this gives me hope for the rest of the game :D

She tries to use Parvati's father to convience us and even uses shit like "This is what a hero would do!". Ever the first time i saw her, i sense something wasn't right to me.

Is it just me or is the game extraordinarily ugly? Like, everything in it - plantlife looks like shit (and is everywhere, so you can't just not look at it), everything seems to blend together, and almost all characters just look hideous.

I have yet to see a single screenshot from this game that didn't make me want to bleach my eyes. It's as though they made a concerted effort to make the ugliest game possible.

Are the old masters really ALL complete burnouts?
You bet. 20 years doing this shit, having to deal with suits, management, massive layoffs, crunch periods, botched ideas, lack of sleep, poor pay, etc., and you start to realize the younger you was naive and didn't know what the hell he was getting into. If the DE guys were developing cRPGs for 20 years, they would be also doing shooters and we would crap all over their decadent behavior.

Finished the first area. I think people who said that choice has an obvious "good" path were mistaken, which makes me question their shitposting on the rest. Both options have pretty bad downsides, and if you side with what the "OMG IT'S ALL SJW LOOK" called the obvious "good woman" then she basically says she expects to say fuck 'em all and let 'em starve to the townsfolk. I sided with her because I like to do chaotic good runs first, a Dirty Harry style anarchist, but she made me want to burn both towns to the ground.

Game's limitations definitely showing themselves more as I go, but still enjoying it very much. Doesn't seem New Vegas caliber, but also can't imagine liking that game and not liking this one. We'll see if my opinion changes though.

Console plebes are not amused

Heh, on PC it literally loads that town so fast you can't even read the load screen.

I regret taking most flaws tbh, there aren't enough good perks.
Science weapon perks + science perk on vicar ,max science and long guns, use the jingle gun and you are invincible. If anything some combo are too good, i am never taking any damage anymore.

I think it was similar in fo3/nv on 360 and that other one.

Ooof. Thats long. Even in my shitty PC , running everything on slow that still has fps drops now and again , the game takes like 10 secs max to load.

It is interesting that game has alternative 5 hours playthrough, but it has a problem of beginning basically after tutorial meaning you skip 99% of content. It is somewhat close to Kan Hua from Arcanum, but in Arcanum you would have played most of the game by that point. It is nearly not the same as New Vegas either, where the endgame branches for different factions/variations on the story.

I take it the NPC switch happens captured princess style,
canon villain is probably leader of Halcyon, but alternatively your scientist savior replaces him if you serve the Board

I wonder if there is other branching possible but I am not sure about this, since the change looks a bit awkward.

I spoiled myself main plot for this, and imo plot twist/overall main plot becomes ok. Not needlesly epic, but interesting anyway.

However, the meat of the game, i.e. side quests and cities and quests in them is on far lower quality.

Also, main plot somewhat... makes you actions meaningless in the long run I think. Anyway, if anyone wants to spoil themselves, at least the part of main tweest:
the whole colony is dying due to shit bureocracy/degeneracy and food shortage, which is why you see colonists turn to shit as they live on on carefully dispensed appetite supressers and rationing, while rich live in their Byzantium in luxury

the good Board gal (she is black smart lady) doesn't like dis and wants to use Hope technology to freeze population until problemo solved
your Scientist friend has some other plan about this

game ends with skipping Hope to some place depending on your choices and I take it fighting some boss maybeh, depends on who you side with - your Scientist friend becomes main boss if you side with the Board plan about putting colony into hibernation. if u do dis, people who you made productive and helped go first and will unfreeze first (?)

I also finished black pinkhaired huntress lady companion quest. It was very boring.
The main plot is not very boring. But the whole game around it really is.

LoL you must be eager for some punishment. I am hard pressed to find perks to spend my points on,let alone taking flaws for more points. The one making you get more damage could be decent if you feel that the game is too fucking easy tho.

Is actually the most passable part of the game, still boring tho.

MuH HUGE Openworld! tards are worse
than storytards.

And that’s quite a statement considering that I wouldn’t piss on a storytard if he/she/xe was on fire.
I am really hurt mate, and i though you wanted to go on drinking spree with me....tctctc.

The problem is that I already have too many perk points, the flaws aren't worth it.
Most of the perks feel too 'safe', would have preferred more that added unique things and ones with negatives.
