Could have done it much sooner but I kept doing stupid mistakes here and there. Anyway, on to Chapter 2 now :D

Meatboy? Are you using a controller? I've heard it's extremely frustrating with M+K.

Mouse is hard to use because it isn't supported.

Just using a keyboard so far. The game taunts me every time I start it that a gamepad is pretty much a requirement and that keyboard sucks, which got me worried but I didn't run into any major problem yet. I only remapped the action key from shift to z and the jump key from space to x.

Maybe the game does play better with a gamepad but so far I'm comfy with my keyboard and I can feel I got precise control of the character. If anything I got the achievements for beating the first chapter light and dark world without dying. The latter took a while but I felt that most of the time it was because I did some stupid mistake or didn't pay attention, which was mainly my fault or not that of the game or the controller. I'll see how it goes when I get farther in the game.

Broke down and bought NWN2 platinum on Steam. Maybe the camera and menu delay has been fixed! Maybe the inventory isn't a big ugly turd with item icons that blend together! Maybe the graphics and spell effects in particular have been improved to NWN1 levels of eyecandy! Maybe I'll say maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Holy shit todays deals are p.fucking awesome:

M&B Complete for 7,50
King's Bounty Platinum Ddition for 7,50
Operation Arrowhead for 15
Also I hear IL-2 is p. awesome game, but I haven't played it - I'm cannot into flying games.

And a fucking great adventure game - Lost Horizon. Played it a few months ago and fell in love with it. It had the old Lucas Arts adventure game feeling.

I'm kinda thinking of grabbing M&B and King's Bounty since I haven't tried both of them and hear that they are p. awesome.

Is there any point in buying M&B? I have the original because I bought it straight from TaleWorlds when it was still dirt cheap and in "beta", but I haven't played the Warband shit. Is it worth spending the money? I hear there is MP, but is that all it has to offer over the original game?

Crap games today. Only one I would play is Lost Horizon, except that it costs more than I'm willing to pay. Oh well, I get to keep my money this round.

Only point in owning the original MB is mods. Warband has everything the original has plus the new content. You can get Warband for $7.50 -- not sure what that is in Euros, assuming less than the pack. KB Platinum pack is a great deal if you don't own any of the games. I only have The Legend, only played through half of it (put it aside for a bit) and already have around 40 hours of game time sunk into it. Altogether the pack probably has 200+ hours.

How is Sim City 4? Last Sim Cities I played was some remake of the original back in the mid 90's. Doubt it will ever slip lower than $5 so I'll probably get it.

All I know is that it still has superb mod community over at simtropolis.com

Although SC4 gameplay doesn't seem good to me it's fun to make cool looking but unfunctional cities. :M

Hmm, some people are reporting technical issues with Sim City 4, eh... I'll probably get it anyway. Haven't bought anything during this sale other than Meat Boy, Puzzle Quest, and two of the indie packs. Warband is fantastic but I'm sorry to say in my old age I've gotten a bit durpy and it's almost too open-ended for me. I know... I know... ARPG fag that I am.

But hey, if anyone has any doubts on Warband, don't. The game is terrific but it's one of those open-ended sandbox things that will eat away a lot of your time (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).

Think I'll pick up Simcity 4 since I haven't played a Simcity game for fucking ever, and Rush is super cheap and looks like JUST MY KINDA PUZZLE GAME, and maaaaaaaaaaybe Dirt 2. That's really cheap and I've heard good things (Even from.... Skyway) but I'm not much for racing games so I'm on the fence.

In case someone is interested in the Crysis games, be aware that the Steam release have Securom and are limited to 5 activations. I guess you can request more if you run out of them but the only point of getting a game on Steam would be to exchange crappy DRM for one less crappy (like what happened for Mirror's Edge or Dead Space). Of course it's cheap right now but I wanted to post this in case people were not aware.

It's pretty decent, and actually is an incline difficulty-wise from the horribly easy SC3000, now you can actually get into trouble from poor finance management at the start, and loans and deals are much more important this time around.

With added Rush Hour bit (yeah, it's included), I'd say it's quite worth the fiver - as far as I understand, RH adds some new public transport options, more roads and such, and gives access to sort of mini-games or what have you where you get to guide some vehicles around town for various reasons.

Pretty shocked to see someone on the Codex call today's deals crappy. :rpgcodex:

I'm probably getting Swords and Soldiers, Greed Corp, Amnesia, and possibly Archon.

Whoa, HoI 3. I've always wanted to try that. Gonna get the base game for $5.

Gonna need some opinions on these games, though:

Greed Corp
The Ball
Swords and Soldiers
Sniper: Ghost Warrior
Plants vs Zombies

The only game that could potentially be worthwhile is Amnesia, and even then the game is iffy at best.

PvZ is a basically a 2D format tower defense game. Not particularly challenging but it makes up for that in the humor, art style, and overall presentation. There's a demo on Steam if you want to check it out. Here's a review of The Ball, doesn't really look that great to me. Greed Corp and Swords and Soldiers are basically strategy games. I don't know that much about them but I love the art direction in both and hey, they're only $2.50 each. Only reason I'd shy away is the possibility they might end up in an indie pack someday although that seems doubtful and, if it happened, it probably wouldn't be until the summer.

Don't get HoI 3 without Semper Fi. It makes the game a lot better. Plus most of the popular mods require SF.

Canadians have a flat "This Game is Not for You Canuck Hillbillies' emblazoned across the HOI3 sale graphic. Oh well, didn't want an overwrought buggy mess of a strategic spreadsheet with torrent of DLCs anyway.
