I clicked the tags after not messing with it for more than a year and it says the last tag I applied to a game was "needs a bath". It's probably for the best that they made the requirements stricter since then.

Since the finale of the Steam sale draws near I thought I would plug the Dread X Collection. Each package consists of horror themed indie games and there is plenty of variety in this anthology series. Something for everyone.

My personal favorite is Chip's Tips from the third collection. So if you want to give gaben more of your money then consider giving these fellas a piece of the cake instead of an AAA dev that already have more money than they can spend.

The question is only when does a game has the tag. Only when a certain number of votes is reached or just when any idiot gives the game the tag?

It is a relatively safe tag to ignore.
A game I bought had it once, and it was absolute garbage. I posted about it in the JRPG subsection.
2 other games have the tag that might not be complete trash, Timespinners and Bastard Bonds. One is a retro jump and run, the other a humorical gay tactical rpg but I have played neither.
The rest is visual novels with high homosexual intents, porn games and other useless trash.
Also it is usually coupled with a disgusting Callifornian cartoon art style. I am now almost inclined to ignore it myself after checking the tab.

The MISSING: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories is an excellent and underrated platformer and has very serious writing.
Tacoma and Gone Home are ok for Walking Sims, but everyone knows them.
Ikenfell, which is recent, is a decent JRPG with fun combat, a bit juvenile writing which bothered me sometimes and I have to warn people about it.
Also, I see that Lucah: Born of a Dream has this tag. It's a soulslike game that I bought and started playing yesterday. I played for a couple of hours and I didn't find a single hint to include this game in this tag, but I'm still early in it. Anyway, it has very interesting gameplay and although early, I think I'll have a great time with it.

-i must have to want to come back to it. and it has to last long. very long.
-it must offer a constant stream of patches or an extensive support from modders. preferably both.

Overall the sale is disappointing. Not much going on in the AAA segment. No good discounts on some indie hits either.
