DD was a more ambitious concept but they utterly failed in sustaining it. Orcs Must Die is a more 'discreet' project and, as such, has a lot more balance, polish, and is simply more enjoyable. OMD's DLC was a good value for the money whereas the DD DLC is just nickel and dime profit mongering. They'll still make a lot of money because the bulk of the community are those crazy people who farm items for the sake of farming them and sell them via a developer supported item shop.

That said, at $3.75 DD is a good game if you have a few friends to play it with -- plenty of content in the base game.

And speaking of Orcs Must Die it's up on a daily deal again for $3.75 (the DLC will run another $1.25ish). Highly recommend it.

What inane pre-order bullshit? The only pre-order bonus I know of are costumes, which are only cosmetic and when activated also change the look of the bladestaff, and again that's only a cosmetic change. So apart from appearences, why you are better off pirating a game offered today for the price of one bread and two pastries at my local bakery?

Yeah, hoopy, for the most part, is shit poster.

I like tower defense but I'll put off buying SP games, even this cheap, got big enough backlog already.

Picked up Orcs Must Die! Looking forward to playing it.

Does it have multiplayer? Noticed one of my mates had it too.

Also bought the expansion to King Arthur as well as the DLC. I still suck at the game but I'll retry it soon. Who knows, maybe I'll actually be able to play it this time. I really loved it I was just very bad at it.

I have always held off during sales due to the lackluster reviews. They said that the game was difficult, but in a somewhat inane way, and very grindy.

I'm a moron and a shit poster for not tolerating bullshit like in-game content only available through pre-ordering or from a specific retailer? Maybe you two should head to the Escapist forums or something, I think that would be closer to your intellectual level.

Can I third, "You're a moron" in hopes that it might sink in?

It's 10 euros for the whole shebang for me - that's all DLC, expansion and game.

Also, do it Skyway. You won't regret it, unless of course you suck as much at wargames as I do.

Orcs Must Die is far more fun than I anticipated.

Though I don't get tower defense games, it seems pretty devoid of gameplay and pointless. Place traps, press a button to let the game play itself, and press the attack button repeatedly.

The fact that you have to spam-click attack in each wave is the only thing that pisses me off about Orcs Must Die! so far.

Eastern europeans have permanent -33% - -50% off of most games at Steam since a few months ago.
Anno 2070 costs 30 bucks for us as an example. Apparently Valve learned that third world shitholes like to play games too.

I liek wargames

Mentioned it in the OMD thread but spam clicking is not the way to go. Your shots are weaker if you spam click (with the crossbow) -- it's better to line up headshots. If you got the item/trap DLC then I highly recommend the acid bombs to clear out packs of enemies.

Aaaaand... today''s daily is Bastion for $5.

Spam-clicking with the crossbow I can clear out entire waves with no help from traps. How is it better to line up head-shots?

EDIT: Also, link to the OMD thread please :)

But you get half the score for delivering the killing blow yourself instead of letting the traps deal with the orcs. Of course you may not be interested in a high score, but given the limited number of levels, trying to get a very high score is a fun way to replay the game. For best effect you should try to combine the traps to get a high combo multiplier, to which you can also participate by hitting the orcs with your xbow without killing them. Check this link if you want to know more about the score system: http://www.robotentertainment.com/blog/detail/Mastering-Leaderboards
