And, as the title notes, at the very least it'll save you from carpal tunnel. Also practicing head shots is good because spam clicking won't work on the tougher stuff like armored/fire/frost orcs and ogres.

Eastern europeans have permanent -33% - -50% off of most games at Steam since a few months ago.
Anno 2070 costs 30 bucks for us as an example.
It's 50 Euros for Pollacks :x

We get all the bad things Eastern European gamers get from Steam (delayed patches, sometimes no DLC (Lonesome Road) or no possibility of game purchase at all (Skyrim)) while we get no benefits... the Ukrainians at least have reduced prices.

Not interested in playing for high score, I like playing the game for its own sake. So won't be going for the best scores :)

Why would it sink in when it isn't true? It's complete bullshit to have game content only available through pre-ordering or from a certain retailer. There's no excuse for it.

Codexers whine about the decline but as soon as there's a Steam sale they turn into industry yes men.

One entirely cosmetic skin, Rorschach.

I don't see anything wrong with what Hoopy said, pre-order DLC's are meant to brainwash/force consumers into compulsive spending. In a just world, these kinds of practices would be put to an end, and the content that would be cut out, would stay in the vanilla retail like it should be, and used to be.

In my opinion, there is no difference between day 1 DLC and a pre-order bonus, because they both lead to the same thing: Developers cutting content form their game, so they can overcharge you.

What's the incentive for a company to make a demo, when all they have to do is cut content from their game and say "If you don't buy now, you'll never ever ever have this content and you'll always have an incomplete game"? That right there will strong arm customers into buying their game, even if it's complete and utter shit, just for the fact that nobody wants an incomplete experience.

What cut content? It's just a skin for the main character and his melee weapon, that's it. While I tend to display more scrutinity when it comes to actual content that has an impact on the gameplay, I have no problem with purely cosmetic stuff designed solely to reward the people who pre-order the game.

Now If you decide to get your knickers in a twist over this, which I find absurd but to each his own, then be my guest and do not condone such practices by not playing the game. Or pirate it if you want to; it's not like care that much if you pirate it, but don't use a simple pre-order skin as a justification to pirate it, because it makes you look like a prat.

An incentive to pre-purchase something or buy at regular/list price can be found in pretty much any retail market. And really, who cares? Most people with half a brain realize it's not worth preordering for anyway. Of all the the things wrong with the gaming industry, developers adding a pre-order costume or small amount of game play content is fairly trivial and just one of those pointless fetishes people get hung up on. To advocate the piracy of an indie game over something as minor as that when, all else withstanding, it's a fairly polished product and set at a reasonable price (never mind the fact it was $3.75 during the recent sale) is moronic . Reminds me of the idiots on the GOG forums who have their anti-Steam fetish but rush to pre-order shit like Dragon Age 2 and Duke Nuke'em Forever. It's called the bigger picture.

Also, for the record, Orcs Must Die has a demo.

I agree with the principle that pre-order content is not healthy.

I disagree that you should get your panties in a knot over that principle when it's just one fucking skin.

There are two versions of incomplete content:
- Incomplete content that matters
- Incomplete content that doesn't matter.

Edit: Besides, the consequences of non-cosmetic DLC (actual statted equipment) are much more than forcing the customer to buy. The implication of DLC equipment is that there is no thought with regards to game balance because you can't balance between players that have DLC equipment and players that don't. On the other hand, simply cosmetic DLC/pre-order/whatever doesn't affect the quality of my gameplay in that way.

Also why do my bolts always seem to go past the enemies, has this game got the Alpha Protocol syndrome? Only it seems that you can't improve your aiming abilities.

OMD is actually a good game. It's just that Preorder shit sucks.

Seen a lot of praise for Bastion. Having played it now I think it's pretty boring. Over an hour in, but I'm just bored constantly. Not enough monster variety, and even the ones in aren't interesting to fight against. Heard lots of good stuff about the music, but it's pretty mediocre. Menu theme is alright, the rest, sure, they are ok, but not nearly as good as hype would have you believe.
Not really worth the full price IMO.

It's horribly boring, I agree. I pirated it before buying - a wise choice. Stopped playing after the second map.

Yep, I passed even at $5. Followed the development for about a year prior to release and they hyped it up to be something really fantastic. The art direction and music is good but the game play, as noted, is boring. It's basically just an isometric hack and slash version of Braid or Limbo.

Bought King Arthur. Hopefully it's as good as people say it is. Well I've played it earlier but not for a long.

Have you tried Rage? Is it worth pirating?

Also, anyone played King Arthur? Is it good? I hated the art from the videos, but how is the gameplay? Is it too similar to Total war?

no. No. NO. Abso-fucking-lutely not. If you really have 15+ GB lying around, go pirate something like Battlefield 3 and have some fun on pirate servers.
