On today's episode of old man yells at cloud, am I the only one who really dislike these "fake similarity bundles" that deceives you into thinking two (or more) games are from the same devs, or share more in common than very superficial stuff like "herp derp here's another metroidvania too (except this one sucks, just don't tell anyone about it)"? I'm seeing this more and more on Steam, they put a few games together on a sales bundle and they essentially have nothing in common, in fact it's not rare that they put a shitty one coupled with a decent one. Then you go "oh wait so there's another game from the same devs? Interestin--oh, it's not from the same devs, AND it sucks too, AND it has nothing in common with the game that picked my interest, right, got it". Fucking hell.

Controversial opinion but I like crappy games in bundles. I buy a bundle for 1 or 2 games and the rest don't matter. I'll play them for an hour each just to laugh at how bad they are and move on. Playing jank can be fun.

Some of these deals on AAA releases just aren't good enough nowadays. 30% off means little when the game costs £60 to start with.

Only game I've got my eye on for the sale right now is the fairly-priced Arthurian Legends, purely because people on here say it's good.

Even 80% is pushing it. It's still £10 for a game several years old now. I was considering Ghost recon breaking point and it's double what I'd want to pay for a ubisoft title.

Has any one tried this? I was thinking of getting it. Saturn emulation is a pain in the arse.

That's the real problem. Publishers have altogether stopped lowering base prices and they're not even giving deep discounts to begin with. Generally best deal seems to be waiting for complete edition or something couple of years down the road.

Yep, brilliant remake, great little game. Very easy so will only last a handful of hours unless you play to master it's harder settings (which I do, but obviously others don't), but for that price it's a bargain regardless.

RE4 too expensive, the PS5 shooter with the unattractive woman too expensive, Dark Souls IV too expensive, Hi Fi Rush too expensive, Nier original too expensive, Kena not sure. Probably nothing again. Funny thing is that I've been buying a lot of expensive stuff lately. But these games? Eh.

Yeah a lot more publishers have bigger deals in the month or two before the summer/winter sales then offer them during the big sales at smaller discounts because they know some tards will get caught up in the frenzy and pay a bit more.

I am seeing things in the winter sale that were 60% a few weeks ago 50% off now, some 85% stuff at 75%, et cetera. Steam users get swept up into a buying frenzy and big publishers find ways to squeeze out a bit more per sale. If cards generated as much money as you suggest then publishers would want more consoomers producing cards id est more people buying their games.

I think the fact that you can turn trading cards into money to buy games was a factor that contributed to making sales shittier all around
Most cards are worth less than 10cents for the entire set you get per game. No one is balancing their sale price around those things.

Thank you. I own the original but my Saturn is buried in the closest. Wasn't sure if this was a good remake or one of those butcherys. Any other remakes like this at a good price? Doesn't have to be a rail shooter.

Broken radio warning: Add Augmented Steam to your browser, and use isthereanydeal. I barely buy games during sales, and just get some when they reach an all time low price.

gg.deals is better than isthereanydeal IMO. It includes keyshops which ITAD doesn't.
Tbh most keyshops are untrustworthy, at least the grey market ones. Many people have had keys revoked after it turned out they were purchased with stolen credit cards or were misappropriated review keys resold on the grey market. You don't risk your account over it or anything, but you'll lose the game.

10 years of key shopping and I've only had an issue twice of keys not working but getting a replacement in 24 hours time. Never once had a key revoked.

This spiel you just gave is the same automated response polygon/Kotaku programmed into every pc gamer/redditor.

Legit stores have that happen too.

Never had a key revoked and if I did then I'd still have saved more across the grey market than I would lose rebuying a single game on steam. I bought Haiku the robot for 77p on a grey market site today. It's £10.50 on steam in the sale. There's no way to justify spending that much more money.
