The message that comes after I buy a game asks me whether I want to install the Steam client, so I guess you can buy without it. My normal browser also shows a Steam login.

Edit: What MHC says :).

I'm going to his house and install 'Steam Client' on all of his computers.

Good news, Max Payne 3 is a flash deal so you can buy it and become a True Gamer™ like Morgoth says.

It's pretty enjoyable if you like base building sim type of games. I actually got it for $1.50 back in the day when Steam had really steep discounts. $6.70 isn't that great a price for it. Can probably get it cheaper during a GOG sale.

Think I'll grab Botanicula now. Was mildly interested before, but the Humble Bundle for it was $5 minimum. Kinda doubt it'll be in another indie bundle (Though it's possible I guess) but for $2.50 what the hell.
"For $X what the hell" is what got me in trouble during this sale.

As for vote games, here's what a bro said in his recommendation of Last Remnant:
lmao there's a town called dillmoor and the king tells you to go there. also a spell call mystic missile.
here is exmpale of this games wicked dialogue:
who teh hell are u people??
we dont have to introdcute ourselves to the likes of you!!!
get ready...... im gonna smash your faces in!!

4:24 PM - i want to die: come on! let's kick some a!
4:25 PM - waz: is that a real line
4:25 PM - i want to die: every battle
4:25 PM - waz: jesus

this game is mostly menus and watching your characters do the selected actions with the occasional quicktime events.

also i found a monster. i can sell it. perhaps it is a pokemon

basically buy this game if you are cool + like cool games

So that sounds good.

I guarantee you Botanicula will eventually make its way into another Humble Bundle (of course I have no real interest in playing it and as pretty as Amanita's games are too look at I've always gotten bored and never finished one). Demigod isn't even worth $2.50. It's basically just a poorly done rip-off of DOTA -- might as well wait until DOTA 2 is 'released' (or just play it now if you have access to the massive semi-closed beta).

I wonder what are the chances of GalCiv II coming back as a daily... :(

I voted for Risen in the next round. I still don't have it, but I already have Divinity II and the Two Worlds games. There's probably not much chance for Risen to win, though.

I actually think Evil Genius was a pretty terrible game, but I played it a really long time ago.

BG&E is one of my favorite games. Hipsters say it was overrated just because so many people like it. They think praise is cumulative, like if a lot of people think it's a 4/5 then you add them up and people think it's 12351356/5 and therefore overrated

I got all the New Vegas DLCs for 10 bucks total I think. Now I have to wait for 10GB to download...

Unless I am having a case of the dumb-dumbs, then if you don't mind watching an advertisement every time you boot it up, you can get Risen free at GamersGate:

http://www.gamersgate.com/FG-RISEN/risen

I haven't really used the free games thing yet though, so I am not sure if its available to anyone with an account or if you need to be special.

Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet - Is it worth 3 $?
And second question: Crysis I or Far Cry I?
