I would have $9.99 liked it too. That's what I just payed for Risen and DKS seems to be a much better game.

DKS does seem worth $20, yeah. Bought it before the summer sale for $20 and was having a good time.

Tempted to get Mass Effect 2 at $7, but if I wait there'll probably be a GotY Gold Remastered Platinum Director's Cut Uncensored version with all the DLC for $7. Then again, could just pirate the damn DLC.

The original is pretty solid. Chaos Theory is one of the best games ever. Conviction is shit. Double Agent is pretty close to being shit.

So when are the EA sales usually held. It might be fun to try some EXTREME COLLAR-GRABBING for once.

Your lucky day.

Anyway Divinity II: DKS for $19.99. I know people liked it but do they $19.99 like it?

Were the Mafia games any good?

Amnesia: The Dark Descent - Anyone play this? Looks mildly interesting.

Divinity II is probably worth the money, quite a few people around here like it,you can find the threads about it

I haven't played any of the Mafia games

Amnesia is definitely worth the money. It's and adventure/horror game although the adventure part is pretty light but it has great atmosphere

anyone thinking of getting amnesia might be interested to know that there is a custom story option and there are user scenarios out already

also the sound design is magnificent and the physics system for objects is spot the fuck on, even better than penumbra

Where the fuck is the TF2 topic? Wasn't it this?

Either way, I've got the Copper's Hard Top (hat for heavy) drop in the summer sale, and I desperately want the Rogue's Col Roule. It's basically the only item in TF2 that appeals to me - anyone got it willing to trade or know somebody?

Should be a "TF2 is free" topic somewhere. Odds are you won't be able to trade the copper's hard top for the col roule since the col roule is fairly popular, but it's possible. Best bet would be lurking around on the Steam TF2 trade forum.

This first Mafia game is a masterpiece. Yes, it's just another linear shooting game, but the presentation is fantastic. I bought the 2nd Mafia game a while back when it was cheap but I haven't even installed it yet. Based on reviews, it sounds like a big step back, but I figured I'd give it a shot.

Meanwhile, I didn't buy Div II at $20 a few weeks ago because I figured it might be cheaper at the sale and now.... I'll be buying Div II for $20 anyway. Much ado about nothing.

Nothing for me today -- hoping maybe Morrowind goes on sale for the last set of dailies since they had separate days for New Vegas and FO3. But I doubt it.

Are the Ass Effect 2 DLCs worth waiting for an eventual sale of a theoretical GOTY edition?
Otherwise I might buy it now...

Heard the last one sucked. The one with the blue chick was OK. One day when the Codex was down last winter I ended up buying all the available mission DLC.

To be fair I was pretty drunk at the time.

I like being legit with my games. Especially my roleplaying games like Mass Effect 2 and Call of Duty Black Ops.

I almost never 'demo' games either. If I was poor it might be different I suppose.

I 'preview' the hell out of movies and TV shows though.

A third world family could eat for a week with the money you spent on a romance simulator. Deal with your conscience!

I only buy good games. And rarely at full price.

If anyone is even remotely interested in Mass Effect just watch some Let's Plays on YouTube. The story is okay and 'Regenade' Shepard in ME2 is good for a laugh but the actual game play is atrocious - console cover shooter with a handful of abilities. The atmosphere is generic, it's endless corridors and elevators (ME1) none of which look interesting. Deathspank does a better job portraying a convincing game world. Mass Effect feels like you're slogging through a shooting gallery going from one dialog cut scene to the next.

Ok, please put down all sharp objects and rocks while I ask a question. Is Last Remnant any good? I know it's probably typical JRPG trash but the battle system intrigues me and I read a lot of moaning about how hard the game is. Has anyone tired it (that's willing to admit it)? I care less about the story in this case then the battle system and challenge, assuming there is any to be had here.
