This STEAM sale is really shit. I was gifted New Vegas ultimate edition for $5 a couple months ago, it's a ripoff at $11 now.

Alan Wake any good? I'm thinking about buying it. Everything for 7.99 doesn't sound bad. I heard it's really good too.

I've never managed to play more than 2 hours at a time of it, and I've tried it again several times. It focuses heavily on story, meanwhile the actual gameplay is repetitive and boring as shit.

Alan Wake shit has been bundled to death. I'd say only the first one is worth playing and even that's a stretch. The shooting feels nice but it's fairly boring: you shine a flashlight on shit and fire off a few shots of your revolver/shotgun. There's also a 2deep4u story. I'd pay $3 max for it.

Life is Strange

Like most have said it's mostly a repetitive third person shooter, only difference is you have to use a flashlight on the bad guys before you start shooting them. The story tries to imitate Stephen King but since I am no a King fan I was not that into it,I got the main game on some GoG sale a couple years ago and never got the American Nightmare Expansion since the main game was just mediocre

Good sale if you are looking for something to play with a bunch of friends. Age of Empires / Mythology / Rise of Nations are at -80%, Solar Empire at -75%, Chaos Reborn -66% etc.

I'd also recommend Fear Equation, it's only -33%, but it's still a very good management/survival (a lot of people associate survival with minecraft like gayness, but this isn't it, just watch a few videos) game with a nice atmosphere and setting. - http://store.steampowered.com/app/428350

Stasis and Hard West at -60% and Neo Scavenger at -67%. All things considering, some sales were way worse than this one.

Sort of an aside, but one of the card drops I got from one of my purchases was a Foil Card.

Thing is, that card in particular hasn't been listed on the market. Ever. No history. Theoretically I can ask any price I want, but I settled for an amount that'll put me in the clear for my purchases for this sale.

My only problem now is waiting for the 15-day "holding" period because I refuse to use their verification app.

My Steam sale purchases ain't over, but it's getting harder to find anything even worth an in-depth look.

Why wont you use the app? Just approve the item to the marketplace then uninstall it if it bothers you that much.

For one thing, I need to buy a phone that supports the app - my current one can send text messages and (possibly) play MP3-files, at best.

I'm aware of the software emulation-thing, but I'm not gonna bother with that.

If you have an android tablet you can use the app on that as well. You don't need a smart phone, you just need a phone to receive the original text message to set it up.

Could someone explain to me why people are buying steam trading cards with real money? I really have no clue why anyone would want to do that.

It allows you to make badges. By making badges you can level up, and levelling up allows you to have more friends, which is relevant for people wanting to play online.

Isn't the base friend count something like 200? Are there really that many gamers who need more "friends" than that to create the market for trading cards?

I think it's 250. And obviously the average Steam user has thousands of friends.

Yeah I have like 8, and three or four of them are there because steam trades and whatnot. The rest are real friends. But I rarely play multiplayer games, since I'm trying to avoid getting too engaged with games I know are doomed to go down eventually.

Again, that requires a purchase that I'm not willing to make.

I don't own any (Android-friendly) tablets.

I don't own a smartphone.

I own a bog-standard cellphone with the minimum of amenities.

Besides, I'm looking to get out of Steam, but that Foil Card drop puts a delay on that...I might actually end my Steam career on a bang and buy a copy of Thiaf for the hell of it.

We'll see.

Get with the times. Or just forego a dollar's worth of shitty card money.

Might get KeeperRL at some point. Almost got Jagged Alliance: Flashback since it's like a dollar, but decided against it anyway.

I'm not sure why you would buy a bunch of games on Steam when you look to get out of Steam.

I hope you meant a card drop from playing the game. Those from the purchase itself will go poof on Monday.

I gave in these last few days, probably prompted after getting Fable Anniversary gifted. Thankfully I didn't buy everything directly through Steam.

Dex
Celestian Tales: Old North
Drakensang: Phileasson's Secret
BloodGate
Satellite Reign
Avernum 2: Crystal Souls
Sudeki
Kentucky Route Zero
Northmark: Hour of the Wolf

Under 20€ so not bad, I guess.

It's the current year, third-world street sweepers own smartphones. How can you not have a smartphone? Do you even Enviado bro?

And lol @ anyone having more than 200 friends on Steam. These days everyone you ever meet or even heard of from someone is a "friend". Social media, mang.
