Wanted to get Saints Row 2 but I am hopping it might go down in price even more. Its a bit of a gamble if I spend 7$ right now on a port that might not even work like many people claim.

I'll definitely grab the OMD DLC today. Fair number of games I had my eye on are discounted, but most/all of them I'll wait and see if they hit dailies. Now I just have to spend hours digging around looking at the non-daily sales to see if there's anything I missed. :bounce:

If you use any major credit card you should have zero liability protection. Any fraudulent charge you contest will be refunded within 48 hours and the process for requesting a new card takes about fifteen minutes. The reality is if you regularly monitor your CC activity like any reasonable person should there is basically no downside to shopping online. People like to hem and haw and cry about it in theory but, pragmatically speaking, it is a minor annoyance at worst.

Moreover, even then most credit cards have a system where you can generate a 'facade' CC number per merchant and set a fixed limit/time span on it. So rather than inputting your actual CC number you use the 'facade' one instead.

If you had your CC on file, they already have it (but aren't likely to ever be able to decrypt it).

You know, I try to do this during every Steam sale and just end up quitting in a fit of rage. How do you get the damn thing to work without problems? I always get about half way through the list only to hit next 10 and have nothing display then fuck everything up! I have to use stupid 3rd party sites to browse all the deals. Give a wanna be MHC bro some pro steam tips, will ya?

I used the web based store about an hour ago and it was fairly smooth. To be safe every few pages open a new tab.

This. Steam always gets horrendously pissy during a big sale though, it's just kind of a crapshoot to get it working well enough. Or you can do what I do now, which is add basically every game you're somewhat interested in possibly buying eventually at a discount to your wishlist, so you can check that easily for deals. I'm still digging around a little manually just in case. :M
Also slightly considering DNF for $7 today. Already played through a not removed from inventory version to sate my curiosity, and I honestly am not sure I wanna throw $7 at it or not. Probably won't.

Ended up doing OMD DLC and Runespell Overture today. Really liked the mix of poker and solitaire when I tried the Runespell demo, and 75% off/$2.50 is acceptable, even if it ends up in a bundle at some point.
For future shit I'm eyeballing Payday the Heist, Haunted Hell's Reach, Defy Gravity (Actually intended to pick that up today but forgot), Serious Sam indie games (Maybe at the current 50% off if they don't do a daily, not sure), Geneforge complete pack (probably will buy it at the current $10 if it doesn't hit daily), Bulletstorm (Might do it for the current $10), Kohan pack (Probably will want a bigger discount), Hard Reset (If it hits $10 or less definitely), RISK MOTHERFUCKING FACTIONS (Been waiting on this bastard for entirely too long, if it hits $2.50 I'm buying a copy for a riskbro too)

Saints Row 2 is dirt cheap on GG right now, and you can activate the serial you get on Steam if that's so important for you.

Are any of the Hacker:Evolution/Untold/Evolution Duality games worth anything?

Saints Row 2 is €5 now... I think I'm going to violate my ban on buying games from Steam. Fuck you Gabe Newell, fuck your fat face

Saints Row 2 is a pretty horrendous mess on PC bro. I wouldn't recommend it.

From what I remember reading, Saints Row 2 for the PC is a really bad port.

GG has it for like 3.5 € if you really want to take an even lesser risk.

It is, I got it for free with a magazine and I found it near unplayable.

I'm getting mixed signals here -- some Codexers have said that it's playable now after a few patches. Of course "playable" can mean a lot of things; then again, it's only a five euro coin flip.

I love that Multi-headed Cow is the first to respond, and only minutes after my post -- you're like the thread custodian. :salute:

MHC should be awarded the honorary title of steam whore (or tranny if preferred).
